Andrulis Plays Along to Wagner's Tune

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 100 ante
Kristijonas Andrulis
Kristijonas Andrulis

Kristijonas Andrulis fired out 1,900 on a flop of {10-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{2-Spades} against Tobias Wagner but the German made the call to see a {q-Clubs} turn that both players checked.

The river made it four to the straight when the {j-Hearts} come and Wagner led out for 3,300. Andrulis quickly made it 10,000 but Wagner, with equal speed, made it all-in for 28,300 total and the Lithuanian folded just as fast.

Andrulis has 70,000 remaining.

Naut

Sandra Naujoks
Sandra Naujoks

Team PokerStars Pro Sandra Naujoks has been eliminated by Ilan Boujenah, the Frenchman's luck holding through the end of Day 1b into Day 2 as he put her to the test preflop with {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. She had raised under the gun to 2,700 and Boujenah on the button raised, having ascertained she had just 23,000 total. In it went. She showed {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} and missed the lot, having to interrupt her massage to leave the tournament.

Demirjian Fails to Lure in Mata

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Big blind Mark Demirjian found action to accompany his {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}, as small blind Konstantinos Tsirakidis moved all in preflop for 24,900 after 7,200 had been invested by Daniel Flores Mata. Taking his time, Demirjian asked Mata for his stack size, fiddled with his own (larger) stack, and then flat called. Mata hesitated over his decision but passed - looking relieved to see the monster behind him.

Tsirakidis showed {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds} which picked up a draw on the {Q-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop but missed on the {3-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} turn and river. Down to 328 players.

Hnatow Depressed

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

EPT Deauville finalist Anthony Hnatow has lost about two-thirds of his chips, mostly in one pot where there was around 60,000 in the middle on a board reading {2-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. Hnatow sigh-called off 10,000 on the river only to look as he'd been physically sick when he saw Martin Hanowski's {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. The Frenchman flashed {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} and threw them into the muck.

A couple of hands later and Hnatow made it 2,600 to go in early position and Seamus Cahill flat-called on the button but then Johan van Til reraised to 10,000 out of the big blind. Hnatow muttered to himself and folded once more, Cahill folded behind as well.

Making it Rain-er

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Ivaylo Dimtchev check-raised all-in on a flop of a {2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{A-Hearts} against Rainer Emde and Max Heinzelmann, Emde reraised all-in and Heinzelman quickly folded.

Dimtchev turned over {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Emde shook his head and flipped {k-Hearts}{k-Spades} needing a king or heart to knock out the Bulgarian.

The {10-Hearts} sent Emde into the lead and the {7-Hearts} river changed nothing as Dimtchev wordlessly got up and left the table.

That Mitchell and Ebb Look

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 100 ante
James Mitchell, back on Day 1b
James Mitchell, back on Day 1b

Empty seats are appearing all over the main tournament room now, and with the wandering TV crews pouncing on all-ins it's hard to keep track of them all!

Within five minutes of the restart, Irish Open champ James Mitchell was heading for the exit. Another player from the UK, Gareth Boyle, followed shortly thereafter, when his depleted stack (17,600) was taken by Tuncay Tutus who called his preflop shove with {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Ace-high remained good against the all-in {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and they're already breaking tables upstairs.

Double Double for Microstack

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 100 ante
Michel Abecassis
Michel Abecassis

A rocketing start for Peter Fürmaier who returned today as the tournament short stack with 7,800. The blinds started at 600/1,200 so it was not surprising that these chips were over the line in a heartbeat. He was already up to 17,400 when we caught him shoving preflop again, this time called by Michel Abecassis. His {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} held vs. Abecassis' {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} to give him a stack which suddenly shows promise.

The Plan

TD Thomas Kremser is on the mic right now, explaining to the masses who are seated downstairs what the plan is for today.

As predicted we will be playing six levels or down to the money today, whichever comes first. After the fourth level we'll be breaking for dinner come what may.
