Evangelos Armpatsis had seen his opening raise three-bet to 48,000 by Ioannis Taramas, Armpatsis then four-bet to 100,000 only for Taramas to move all in almost instantly.
Armpatsis looked pained, having put about a third of his chips in the middle while Taramas told him (in Greek) that if he had Ace-King he was way behind. Armpatis was not putoff and called off the rest of his 300,000 stack for his tournament life.
Vasileios Chantzaras has just doubled up against Pim van Riet and here is the action:
Zinman Zayard raised to 22,000 in first position and Chantzaras moved all-in for 226,000 in the hijack seat. The action folded around to Pim van Riet in the big blind and he also moved all-in and had Chantzaras covered. Zayard laid down his hand and we had a showdown with Chantzaras in fear of elimination.
Chantzaras
Van Riet
Chantzaras and his supporters didn't have to wait long to celebrate - . Chantzaras was smothered in hugs by the rail and Van Riet just shrugged his shoulders.
Just one minute after we saw Pim van Riet lose with pocket jacks, Rupert Elder shows him how it is done.
Florian Schleps made the raise from early position and Rupert Elder moved all-in for 234,000. The action folded back around to Schleps and he made the call and had Elder covered.
Elder
Schleps
Once again there was no sweat as Elder nailed the flop!
Board:
That is the difference between winning an EPT and not!
Theofanis Poziopoulos open shoved for 77,000 and Panagiotis Kouloukakos also shoved but for a whole lot more. Everyone else folded and we had a Greek showdown.
