Pagano Gets Paid

Luca Pagano's stack has an upward trend after getting at least one street of value with two-pair.

He was in mid position and heads up with Dmitri Tchernykh who was defending his big blind. The turn was out and Tchernykh check-called a 5,600 bet. The final board read {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Spades}{k-Spades} and both players checked.

The Team PokerStars Pro opened {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and scooped as Tchernykh mucked.

Side Note: Gus Hansen was seen exiting the building, presumed out.

Samanek Sends Bokovanov Packing

Kirill Bokovanov shipped all in preflop for 11,7000 from early position and was called by Josef Samanek in the big blind.

Showdown

Bokovanov{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Samanek{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

Bokovanov was in bad shape, and the {A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop made it all the worse as Samanek flopped a set. Bokovanov needed running sevens to stay alive, but it didn't happen as the {3-Spades} and {K-Spades} appeared on the turn and river respectively.

Double Up for Hille

This year's World Series of Poker final table bubble girl Elisabeth Hille from Norway has just doubled her chip stack after going all-in for 12,300 from the small blind against Russia's Roman Novoselov.

Showdown

Novoselov{4-Clubs} {4-Spades}
Hille{10-Spades} {J-Spades}

The dealer burned and turned {Q-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} giving Hille an early lead by pairing her ten. The {A-Spades} on the river even gave the Norwegian a straight draw, while the Russian was in desperate need of a four to win this pot. However, the river bricked {3-Diamonds} and Hille doubled up.

Gulyy Makes Good Call

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Yuri Gulyy just made a very good river call. It was a three-way pot which had been checked around to Juha Helppi who bet 4,000, Andres Artinano Munoz check-raised to 11,500 and Gulyy opted to cold-call this bet.

Helppi thought for ages and opted to fold before the dealer put out the {5-Hearts} on the turn. Munoz now checked and Gulyy checked behind, the river was the {9-Spades} - ostensibly a blank and Munoz now led out for 15,500. Gulyy took about a minute then made the call and Munoz quickly mucked his hand, the Russian showed {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} to win the pot.

Panev vs. Frankenberger

With 12,000 in the pot and a board reading {4-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{K-Spades}{2-Spades}, Andy Frankenberger checked to Vasil Panev in the cutoff. The latter checked behind, the {3-Diamonds} was put out on the river, and both players checked once again.

Panev tabled {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for a pair of sevens, and it was good as Frankenberger sent his hand to the muck.

Agression Pays Off for Vamplew

At the star-packed table featuring two Team PokerStars Pros Lex Veldhuis and Daniel Negreanu as well as the 2010 UKIPT Grand Final winner David Vamplew, the latter bet 3,400 in the early position on the {J-Clubs} {K-Spades} {9-Spades} flop.

The player in the hijack seat made the call and the big blind contradicted by three-betting to 5,800. Vamplew showed no fear and four-bet to 14,900 making the player in the hijack seat fold his hand.

This put the big blind in a though spot and it took him a few minutes to finally lay down his cards. He flipped one of them showing the {K-Clubs} while Vamplew mucked both his cards.
