Blom Sliding

Viktor Blom
Viktor Blom

Picking up the action on an {A-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop, Viktor Blom check-raised an opponent's bet of 700 to 2,000. A call from Blom's opponent delivered the {8-Clubs} on the turn and Blom bet 3,250. A quick call from his opponent followed by the {3-Clubs} river led to two quick checks.

Blom's opponent tabled {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a flush, besting the Swede's holdings.

Selbst Sinking?

Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst ins't having a great day here in Deauville.

A quick count of her stack showed she's already given away more than 10k from her 30k starting stack.

A 400-chip early position raise was enough to take the blinds moments ago and get her a little back, but she's still got a long way to go.

Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier is headed in the wrong direction here in Deauville.

His opponent bet 1,200, ElkY made a reluctant call and after he was shown {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}, he mucked.

The Frenchman's stack is now down under 25k.

Fitoussi Starts Fast

The former card room manager of Paris' famed Aviation Club is off to a fast start here in Deauville.

Just before the first level ended he was seen making it 575 from middle position, getting called down by just one opponent in the cutoff. They both checked the {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop, but Fitoussi fired 1,025 at the {a-Diamonds} turn.

The Cutoff called and when Fitoussi threw out 2,200 at the {10-Clubs} river, he called again, only to muck when Bruno turned over {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.
