Hey Jude!

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Irish Team PokerStars Pro Jude Ainsworth opened up the first pot following the break with a 475-chip bet, only to see an opponent on the button make it 1,225.

Ainsworth wasted little time four betting it up to 3k and his heads-up opponent shoved in for around 10k. Ainsworth snap called with {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and looked good to knock out his opponent, who showed {a-Spades}{k-Spades}.

However, the {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop gave his opponent the lead. The {j-Clubs} turn made things interesting and the {q-Clubs} river earned Ainsworth half the pot, as he and his opponent both made Broadway straights for the chop.

Carter Got on the Turn, Hallaert Out

Dan Carter and Bruno Launais were two of six players to see a {j-Spades}{q-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop. Launais bet 2,225 when the action was checked to him in the cut-off. Carter was one more seat along and was the only caller to the {6-Spades} turn. Launais led for 4,650 and Carter let his hand go.

Meanwhile last year's sixth place finisher, Kenny Hallaert, was seen telling his bad beat stories to Fatima Moreira de Melo on the rail. He failed to make a comeback from being crippled a short while ago.

Fitoussi Still Flying

Frenchman Bruno Fitoussi continued his fast start here in Deauville just before the break picking up another sizeable pot.

This one started with a 450-chip bet from the player to his right, which Fitoussi and another player called. The flop came {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and after a 1,500 chip bet from the original raiser, just Fitoussi called.

The {2-Spades} turn brought a check from the original raiser as Fitoussi took the lead, making it 2,400. His opponent called and checked again after the {2-Clubs} river.

This time Fitoussi made it 4,400 and after his opponent called, he turned over {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. The boat was good against his opponent's {a-}{k-}.
