Vojtech Ruzicka has won the PokerStars.fr European Poker Tour Deauville High Roller for a cool €313,000 after final table that lasted four hours.

When play began at 13:00CET this afternoon, six players sat down in the vast tournament area of the Casino Barriere, each of them guaranteed €47,500 for their efforts. The first player to pick up this amount was Steve Silverman who committed his short stack with {K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and ran into the {A-Spades}{7-Spades} of Alexandre Reard. The board ran out {3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{J-Spades} and Silverman busted out.

Bryn Kenney joined Silverman on the rail almost an hour later. Ruzicka opened to 70,000, Kenney three-bet all-in with {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Ruzicka called with {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. The final board read {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} to eliminate Kenney in fifth place.

Within minutes of Kenney’s exit, Martin Jacobson was knocked out by Rusicka. Jacobson and Rusicka had clashed earlier in a pot that cost Jacobson half of his stack, and Rusicka helped himself to the other half when he called Jacobson’s three-bet shove with {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}. Jacobson turned over {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and although Jacobson spiked a ten on the flop, the board contained four spades by the river and Rusicka held a fifth in his hand.

Reard became the third place finisher 40 minutes later when he got his chips in with {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} versus the {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} of Reilly on a {7-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop. The turn and river were the {q-Hearts} and {10-Hearts} respectively and Reilly’s flush condemned Reard to third place.

The chip counts going into heads-up were almost level but Reilly started to pull ahead by constantly hammering Rusicka Then a massive hand went down when Reilly got his money in with pocket tens against the jacks of Ruzicka to catapult the latter into the lead.

From that moment on it looked like Ruzicka was going to claim the title, and that is exactly what he did. At just before 17:00CET, a limped pot brought a {2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop, a flop that Ruzicka bet 70,000 on and Reilly called. The {j-Spades} turn saw a 140,000 bet from Ruzicka, a shove of 650,000 from Reilly and a snap-call from Ruzicka.

Ruzicka: {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Reilly: {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Ruzicka had flopped a straight and had locked up the hand. The inconsequential {Q-Spades} completed the board, busted Reilly and left Ruzicka to be crowed the High Roller’s champion.

Timothy Reilly - 2nd place
Timothy Reilly - 2nd place

Timothy Reilly will have to settle for 2nd place and €180,000 after he committed all his chips drawing dead.

A limped pot brought about a {2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop. Vojtech Ruzicka led for 70,000 from the big blind and Reilly called to the {j-Spades} turn.

Ruzicka slowed to a check and that invited a 140,000 bet from Reilly. Ruzicka had a trap planned though and raised to enough to set Reilly all in, who called very quickly for around 650,000.

Reilly opened {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for top pair but was drawing dead as Ruzicka had flopped a straight with {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}. The river dropped as {q-Spades} and Reilly showed class as he offered warm congratulations to Ruzicka.

Reard: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for top pair.
Reilly: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a gutshot, overs and a backdoor flush draw.

Martin Jacobson has been eliminated from the High Roller in fourth place

Jacobson never really recovered from that big hand with Vojtech Rusicka and it was Ruzicka who busted out the talented Swede.

Ruzicka opened to 65,000 on the button and then quickly called when Jacobson moved all in from the small blind. Jacobson opened {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and Ruzicka the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

Jacobson took the lead on the {10-Spades}{j-Spades}{2-Spades} flop and stayed in front on the {J-Diamonds} turn. However, the {4-Spades} on the river improved Ruzicka to a flush and resigned Jacobson to fourth place.

Bryn Kenney - 5th place

Bryn Kenney was playing a 15 big blind stack and saw a pretty hand and decided to go with it.

The action folded to Vojtech Ruzicka on the button and he opened to 70,000 before Kenney shoved for 455,000 from the big blind. Ruzicka, who has been in most of the critical pots today, held his head as if he had another difficult decision to make. He asked for a count and elected to call.

Kenney: {7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Ruzicka: {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

"The seven of diamonds is the luckiest card in the deck, bro!" offered a supporting Kevin MacPhee on the rail.

The board ran {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} to miss both players.

The tournament is a four handed event now.
