Mateos Three-bets Warrington

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Ben Warrington and Adrian Mateos
Ben Warrington and Adrian Mateos

Ben Warrington may be from the UK but he calls Spain his second home, which makes the fact he is seated directly next to Spaniard Adrian Mateos a little more interesting.

Warrington opened to 1,800 in late position and Mateos three-bet to 4,600 from the hijack seat. The other active players got out of the way and Warring followed suit soon after.

Warrington asked Mateos what he had, or at least that is what it sounded like, buut Mateos just chuckled instead.

ElkY Doubles Up Ruzicka, Busts Soon After

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier
Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier

Vojtech Ruzicka has doubled up to 70,000 after he went to war preflop on the button against Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (who was in the small blind).

Grospellier: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Ruzicka: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The board came {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} to double up Ruzicka and "ElkY" was left with about 32,000 remaining. However, when we next returned to the table he was leaving the table having been eliminated.

**Late edit**

We have since discovered that ElkY actually reloaded and then busted the very next hand. Maybe that would explain the stoney silence at the table as ElkY was gathering his belongings. So sick! (YP)

Tureniec Busts Then Busts Again

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Former EPT Copenhagen champion Michael Tureniec has had an expensive day here in Deauville thanks to the High Roller not exactly going to plan.

The floor staff informed us Tureniec busted and immediately re-bought. However, just three or four hands later Tureniec was eliminated again. This is a single reload event so Tureniec will not be making a return to the felt today.

Team PokerStars Pro Vicky Coren is on the up and up. Joining the action on the turn, she fired 4,500 after Marc-Andre Ladouceur had checked the {Q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades} board but the Canadian made the call to see the {5-Spades} on the river.

Ladouceur checked again and Coren bet 7,000 this time, again getting called. She showed {A-Spades}{9-Spades} for the backdoored nuts and Ladouceur mucked.

El Hoss Takes from Kenney

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

Ghassan El Hoss raised from under the gun for 2,800 and picked up one caller in Bryn Kenney playing from the small blind.

Both players checked the {9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{Q-Clubs} flop and {6-Spades} turn. The river then brought the {3-Clubs} and a bet of 6,100 from Kenney which Hoss called before Kenney could finish setting out the chips.

Kenney had {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades} for queens, but El Hoss had {3-Spades}{3-Hearts} for a rivered set and claimed the pot, leaving Kenney with less than 10,000.

Chips for Korenev

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Following a Roman Korenev open from middle position, Timothy Reilly reraised to 4,200 from the button, earning a couple of folds from the blinds and a four-bet to 9,100 by Korenev. After some thought Reilly called the reraise, and the pair saw the flop come single-suited — {9-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}.

Korenev took about a half-minute before firing a bet of 8,100, and after about two minutes of riffling Reilly let his hand go.

O'Dwyer Straits

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Davidi Kitai
Davidi Kitai

Davidi Kitai fired out a bet of 5,800 on the turn of a {3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts} after Steve O'Dwyer checked. The American gave his Belgian opponent a long hard stare before electing to call.

The river was the {J-Spades} and O'Dwyer checked a final table, this time Kitai bet 22,000 and again O'Dwyer thought. Finally, after a couple of minutes he cut and then made the call. Kitai flipped {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} for the rivered nut flush as a disappointed frown formed on O'Dwyer's face.
