JC Alvarado had limped in middle position and Dimitar Danchev moved all in behind him. Faraz Jaka then flat-called from the button and Alvarado released his hand.
Jaka:
Danchev:
The door card was an eight and the board came and the PCA Champion Danchev is the first elimination from this final table.
Talal Shakerchi raised 50,000 from the cutoff and Fabian Quoss made the call in the big blind to see a flop.
Quoss checked and Shakerchi bet 55,000 before the German check-raised to 135,000 with 370,000 behind. Shakerchi took a moment then moved all and Quoss snap-called.
Shakerchi:
Quoss:
Shakerchi had been caught but he still had a backdoor flush draw but predictably it didn't come on the turn or river.
This was the second to last hand before the break...counts to come.
On the last hand of the level, Gautam Sabharwal had raised to 56,000 and everyone folded to the big blind Eric Sfez who made the call while all the other players left for their break.
The flop was and Sfez checked while Sabharwal bet 100,000. Sfez check-raised all in and Sabharwal quickly called.
Sfez:
Sabharwal:
The turn gave Sfez extra outs but the river damned the Frenchman to the rail.
Fabian Quoss opened to 60,000 from early position, JC Alvarado three-bet all in for just over 400,000 from the button, and the action folded to Quoss, who quickly called.
Quoss:
Alvarado:
Alvarado was well ahead, but the flop gave Quoss a set of eights. Alvarado could still win with any king and chop with running diamonds or running straight cards. The on the turn kept his straight outs alive, but unfortunately for Alvarado the bricked on the river.
He quickly exited the tournament area, while Quoss raked in the 800,000-chip pot.
Fabian Quoss raised to 60,000 preflop and Team PokerStars Pro Vicky Coren moved all in for 323,000. Quoss got a count and seemingly satisfied, made the call.
Coren:
Quoss:
The board came and the German made a full house while Coren leaves £67,130 richer.
Faraz Jaka opened to 65,000 from under the gun, Gautam Sabharwal called out of the small blind, and Talal Shakerchi defended from the big blind. The flop came , both blinds checked, and Jaka fired 160,000. Sabharwal called, and Shakerchi folded.
The turn was the , Sabharwal checked again, and Jaka tossed out 220,000. Sabharwal check-raised all in for a half million more or so, standing up in the process, and Jaka immediately called.
Jaka:
Sabharwal:
The bricked on the river, and Sabharwal was eliminated in fifth place.
Faraz Jaka opened to 85,000 from the cutoff, Paul Volpe called out of the small blind, and Talal Shakerchi defended his big blind. The flop fell , both blinds checked, and Jaka fired 110,000. Both Volpe and Shakerchi called.
The turn was the , both players checked, and the completed the board.
Volpe led out for 310,000, Shakerchi quickly called, and Jaka capped his cards. He tanked for the better part of a minute, then tossed in enough orange T25,000 chips to make the call.
Shakerchi turned over for trip sevens, and Volpe flashed a before mucking. Jaka mucked face down. Shakerchi pulled in the 1.5 million-chip pot, crossing the three million-chip threshold.
Fabian Quoss opened to 80,000 from UTG/CO for the third time in a row and again Paul Volpe three-bet him, this time it was to 235,000. Talal Shakerchi and Faraz Jaka folded in the blinds and Quoss tanked for a couple of minutes before moving all in. Volpe called.
Quoss:
Volpe:
The flop gave Quoss a huge draw but the on the turn cut his outs from 14 to just eight. The came on the river giving Quoss the nut straight and he doubled up over a million while Volpe is now the short stack.
