The flop was checked to Jaka who bet 56,000, Quoss and Volpe folded but Alvarado made the call. The came on the turn and Alvarado check-called a bet of 84,000 to see the river.

Alvarado checked a third time and then instantly called Jaka's final 275,000 bet. The latter showed for a flush and Alvarado mucked.

Fabian Quoss opened to 60,000 from early position, JC Alvarado three-bet all in for just over 400,000 from the button, and the action folded to Quoss, who quickly called.

Alvarado was well ahead, but the flop gave Quoss a set of eights. Alvarado could still win with any king and chop with running diamonds or running straight cards. The on the turn kept his straight outs alive, but unfortunately for Alvarado the bricked on the river.

He quickly exited the tournament area, while Quoss raked in the 800,000-chip pot.

Volpe Doubles Through Sabharwal

It was passed to Paul Volpe in the small blind and he shoved for 284,000. Gautam Sabharwal asked for a count, then decided to give him a spin.

The flop came and Sabharwal picked up a straight draw but the turn gave Volpe a flush draw. The river changed nothing but a couple of Sabharwal supporters cheered thinking their guy had made a straight.

On one of the first hands of four-handed play, Talal Shakerchi opened to 80,000 from the cutoff. Faraz Jaka called on the button, and Paul Volpe squeezed, moving all in for 629,000 in the big blind. Shakerchi quickly folded, then Jaka instantly called.

Quoss' Heroics End in Failure

For the second round in the row, Paul Volpe three-bet Fabian Quoss' cutoff raise from the button. The German had made it 80,000 and Volpe reraised to 200,000 and this time Quoss made the call, having previously folded.

Quoss check-called a bet of 130,000 on the flop and then another 190,000 on the turn. Both players checked the river and Volpe showed . Quoss flashed having been ahead until the river.
