The Old Six-Bet from Sternheimer

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

We picked up the action after Philip Sternheimer had four-bet to 4,125 preflop. His opponent, Dmitry Yurasov, was debating what to do and eventually pushed back with a five-bet to 8,800.

Not to be outdone, Sternheimer thought for a few moments before six-betting to 17,925. It was certainly a demonstration of strength, and it did the trick as Yurasov gave up on the hand.

"Stupid Game"

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante
Vladimir Troyanovskiy
Vladimir Troyanovskiy

After an open raise and three callers, we saw the {3-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop. Somehow Nicola Grieco managed to get his stack in with the {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} against a shorter stacked Vladimir Troyanvsky and the latter called with the {J-Spades}{9-Spades}. Both the {6-Diamonds} turn and the {4-Hearts} river failed to improve the Italian and he was drawn to another table immediately after.

Just before grabbing his rack with the chips, he left in disgust with the words, "Stupid game."

Aces Versus Jacks

Level 2 : 100/200, 25 ante

In the last hand before the end of the second level we saw a raise to 700, Andrea Dato three-bet to 2,000 and Nick Maimone made it 5,000. The initial raiser folded and Dato called to see the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop. Maimone fired 6,100 and was called before moving all in after the {9-Hearts} turn.

Dato had 35,400 left and was covered. Maimone said he put the Italian on pocket jacks, and Dato indeed called with that:

Maimone: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}
Dato: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}

The river was the {7-Diamonds}, and Dato spiked his straight to double through Maimone.
