Silver Busts and Reenters

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Max Silver raised to 3,500 with very few chips behind and Erik Seidel called in the big blind. "I like it!" Silver joked towards Seidel and the flop came {8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Seidel checked, Silver got his last 1,600 in and Seidel called.

Silver: {J-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Seidel: {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

The {K-Clubs} turn and {J-Clubs} river completed the early misery for Silver, but he could still laugh and headed straight back to the registration desk.

Komaromi Makes a Big Call

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

From the hijack, Erik Seidel made it 3,000 and Alex Komaromi on the button bumped it up to 9,000. Both blinds folded and Seidel made the call.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades} and Seidel check-called a bet of 8,000. Both players checked the {A-Clubs} on the turn and the {K-Hearts} completed the board. Seidel casually tossed in 30,000 sending Komaromi into the tank. After some deliberation, Komaromi made the call.

Seidel mucked first and Komaromi took it down showing {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.

O'Dwyer Busts to Ho Cheng

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

In a previous hand, Leo Yan Ho Cheng raised to 3,000 and Christian Christner three-bet to 11,000 out of the big blind to force a fold.

Then, Steve O'Dwyer three-bet to 14,000 from the button and initial raiser Ho Cheng four-bet to 30,000. O'Dwyer moved all in and was snap-called.

O'Dwyer: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Ho Cheng: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and O'Dwyer was covered, but the American with Irish roots will most likely be back soon for his second bullet.

The Pique Effect

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Gerard Piqué
Gerard Piqué

A camera team and four photographers followed Gerard Pique to the registration and then to his table, immediately quick firing at the Spanish football star as soon as he had taken a seat. The field has increased frantically over the past hour with a lot of players showing up at the same time, and many tables are opened almost simultaneously to accommodate the growing field.

Kolonias Doubles

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

On a board of {6-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} we saw Yang Wang (middle position) with a bet of 23,000 in front of him. His neighbor, Alexandros Kolonias, shoved for 52,800 and Wang had the decision. He tanked for a bit before he eventually added the needed chips to go to showdown.

Kolonias showed {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for a backdoor flush. Wang mucked but Ivan Luca asked the dealer to show the cards as it had been an all-in and call situation. The dealer obliged and rolled over Wang's {8-Spades}{9-Spades}.

Reentry for Petrangelo; Kornuth Takes from Kaverman

Level 3 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Nick Petrangelo
Nick Petrangelo

While Byron Kaverman has more than double stack, Nick Petrangelo busted to his right and immediately reentered the competition.

Then, Kaverman was in the small blind and bet the {J-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop for 5,600. Initial raiser Chance Kornuth called from early position and both checked the {J-Hearts} turn. On the {2-Diamonds} river, Kaverman bet 12,000 and Kornuth called after some consideration with the {K-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. His instincts were right, as Kaverman only had the {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}.
