At 1pm local time, the final day of the 2016 EPT Malta €25,750 High Roller will commence. Six are left standing from a field of 65 entrants, and they will play down until a winner is crowned. All players are guaranteed at least €98,740, but the champion will walk away with a staggering payday of €465,800

[Removed:17], hailing all the way from New Zealand, is leading the pack with 887,000 in chips. The Kiwi finished the penultimate day in style; eliminating Davidi Kitai on the last hand with aces versus ace-queen to claim the pole position. EPT 10 Vienna winner Oleksii Khoroshenin isn't far away in second place. The Ukranian is commanding a solid stack of 858,000 and will be one to watch at this final table. The short stack is none other than Ole Schemion, but with 27 big blinds left there's room for the German juggernaut to make some magic happen.

Here's how the players rack up at the start of the day:

A Small Delay

It looks like play won't start at 1pm local time (in 10 minutes). Right now things are looking to kick off in half an hour. With the stream on half an hour delay after that, we expect to start coverage in one hour from now.

Level: 18

Blinds: 5,000/10,000

Ante: 1,000

Hands #1-2: Khoroshenin in the Lead After the First Two Hands

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Hand #1: From early position, Oleksii Khoroshenin raised to 23,000 showing just the {10-Spades}. He took down the blind (there was only a big blind) and antes.

Hand #2: Oleksii Khoroshenin, now first to act, raised to 23,000 with {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Big blind Mikita Badziakouski called with {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and checked on {A-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{4-Spades}. Khoroshenin bet 29,000 into 57,000 and Badziakouski called.

The {7-Diamonds} on the turn saw Badziakouski check again. Khoroshenin bet 65,000 into 115,000 and again Badziakouski called, growing the pot to 245,000.

With the {10-Diamonds} completing the board, Badziakouski checked for a third time with 319,000 behind. Khoroshenin took his time and eventually bet 135,000. Now it was Badziakouski taking his time, and eventually he folded.

Hand #3: Schemion Shoves With Kings

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Ole Schemion

Hand #3: Ole Schemion picked up {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} under the gun and raised to 23,000. Ramin Hajiyev looked at {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} in the next seat over and put in a three-bet to 67,000. All the other players folded, bringing the action back on Schemion.

The German juggernaut didn't take too much time before moving all in for 264,000. That send the Azerbaijani back in his seat. He asked for a count of Schemion's stack and took his time to come to a decision.

As the minutes were ticking away, Hajiyev rose from his seat to get a better look at his opponent. Eventually, after considering his options for over four minutes, Hajiyev decided to throw his hand in the muck.

Hajiyev asked Schemion what he had, but the German wasn't planning to reveal that information yet. The two exchanged some friendly banter.

"I will know in half an hour bro," Hajiyev consoled himself, who will have to wait until the stream catches up to find out he made a good fold.

Hands #4-8: Up and Down for Hajiyev

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Hand #4: From first position, Ramin Hajiyev open raised {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} to 23,000. His neighbor, [Removed:17], three-bet {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} to 56,000 and everyone folded.

Hand #5: On the button, Oleksii Khoroshenin raised to 23,000 with {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. Big blind Ramin Hajiyev called with {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and the flop came {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Hajiyev checked and Khoroshenin bet 29,000 into 57,000. Hajiyev called. The {A-Diamonds} hit the turn and with 115,000 in the pot, Hajiyev check-folded to the 65,000-bet that followed.

Hand #6: [Removed:17] received a walk in the big blind with {7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}.

Hand #7: Mikita Badziakouski found {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts} under the gun and raised to 20,000. Five quick folds later, Badziakouski took down the pot.

Hand #8: From the cutoff, Ramin Hajiyev raised to 23,000 with {7-Spades}{6-Spades}. Mikita Badziakouski defended his big blind with {J-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and the flop came {A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. Badziakouski check-folded to a bet of 28,000.

Hands #9-10: Hajiyev Wins With Nines

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Hand #9: [Removed:17] opened to 25,000 from the cutoff with {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, taking down the blinds and antes.

Hand #10: Under the gun, Ramin Hajiyev picked up {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and raised to 23,000. Oleksii Khoroshenin had {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} in the small blind and elected to peel a flop.

The flop was {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Khoroshenin checked. Hajiyev continued with 28,000 and Khoroshenin called. The turn brought the {J-Spades} and Khoroshenin checked. Hajiyev quickly checked behind.

The river paired the board with the {3-Diamonds} and both players checked again, giving Hajiyev the winner with a pair of nines.
