The Preflop Game Intensifies

Mikalai Pobal raised to 105,000 with the {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} in the hijack and Luke Marsh three-bet to 315,000 on the button holding the {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Pobal was having none of it and four-bet to 725,000 and Marsh sent his cards into the muck.

Gaby Livshitz min-raised to 100,000 with the {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and Marsh came along from the cutoff with the {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}. Tomas Paiva in the big blind three-bet to 525,000 with the {a-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Livshitz rather swiftly folded. Marsh came to the same conclusion and Paiva raked in the pot with the worst hand.

The flop came {q-Spades}{a-Spades}{10-Hearts} for Szecsi to hit a pair of tens. He looked at his cards once more and checked, Pobal did the same. The turn was the {2-Hearts} to not change things, they both checked through to the {k-Spades} on the river. It went check-check again for more chips to go into Szecsi's stack.

Tomas Paiva limped in from the early position with {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Luke Marsh completed his small blind with {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Ricardo Da Rocha opted to check with {9-Hearts}{4-Spades}. The flop came {6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{j-Clubs}, they all checked through to the {5-Clubs} to keep Marsh ahead but it also gave Rocha the open-ended straight draw. Marsh checked, Da Rocha bet 150,000, Paiva folded and so did Marsh.

Livshitz Turns a Straight as Action Slows Down

Dietrich Fast opened to 125,000 with the {j-Clubs}{10-Spades} on the button and was called by Norbert Szecsi in the big blind with the {k-Clubs}{4-Spades}. The flop fell {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Szecsi checked, Fast bet 80,000 and earned the pot right there.

Up next it was Luke Marsh that won a pot off Gaby Livshitz when he bet a {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop with {k-Clubs}{q-Spades} to force a fold from {a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Livshitz limped the next hand with the {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, Mikalai Pobal checked his option with the {9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}.

Livshitz bet the {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop for 60,000 and Pobal called with second pair. The {j-Clubs} turn improved Livshitz to a straight and he made it 175,000 to go. Pobal stared at his opponent for a bit and opted to fold.

Laurent Michot held {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} in the early position and raised to 125,000 and got no action.

Tomas Paiva limped in from the cutoff with {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Mikalai Pobal opted to check with {j-Hearts}{3-Hearts} The flop came {j-Clubs}{k-Spades}{5-Clubs}, Pobal check-called the 90,000 bet of Paiva. The turn was the {6-Clubs}, Pobal checked again. Paiva bet 300,000 and that was enough to get the fold.

Dietrich Fast raised to 100,000 from the middle position to pick up the blinds and ante with {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

Paiva limped in from the middle position with {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. Laurent Michot completed his small blind with {a-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Luke Marsh opted to check with {j-Hearts}{4-Spades}. The flop came {2-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, it was checked to Paiva who bet 120,000 to get both of his opponents to fold.

Gaby Livshitz had {q-Spades}{10-Spades} in the hijack and raised to 100,000. Pobal found {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} in the cutoff and called. Laurent Michot three-bet to 335,000 on the button with {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}. The blinds folded and so did Livshitz. Pobal called. The flop came {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for Michot to hit a pair of tens and for Pobal to hit a pair of kings. They both checked to the {5-Clubs} on the turn. Pobal bet 280,000 and Michot called. The river completed the board with the {2-Diamonds} to keep Pobal ahead. Pobal barreled a bet of 450,000 into the pot, leaving 490,000 behind. Michot looked over to Pobal's stack, used two time bank cards, and then decided to call to be left behind short.

Paiva Takes From Pobal

Luke Marsh made it 110,000 to go with the {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} from under the gun and Mikalai Pobal in the small blind gave it some thought with the {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. He three-bet to 375,000 and Marsh elected to fold.

Tomas Paiva limped the {k-Clubs}{j-Spades} in early position and Pobal raised to 230,000 on the button with {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}, Paiva made the call. On a {q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop, Paiva quickly checked and Pobal checked back to see the {a-Hearts} turn.

Paiva checked once more and Pobal checked back. The {9-Hearts} rolled off on the river and Paiva now bet 375,000 to force a fold from the only remaining former EPT Main Event champion.
