Action folded to Davidi Kitai in the small blind who got his last 350,000 in the middle against Kuljinder Sidhu.
Davidi Kitai: A♣8♣
Kuljinder Sidhu: A♥9♦
Kitai found himself dominated as the board ran out 2♠3♥6♥2♦10♠. Sidhu's nine-kicker continued to play to earn him the pot and send the EPT champion to the rail.
Hugo Machado had already contributed 175,000 to the pot when Virgile Turchi shoved all in from under the gun. With only 40,000 remaining, Hugo entered a lengthy tank, prompting a call for time and the floor man's intervention.
At that juncture, with only 40 players remaining and a pay jump on the line, the floor man initiated a countdown for Machado's last 30 seconds. Machado waited until the final moment to push the rest of his stack in.
Hugo Machado: A♠6♦
Virgile Turchi: K♦8♠
While the 2♦3♥7♠ flop seemed promising for Machado, the turn revealed the K♣, and there was no assistance from the 5♦ river.
Regrettably, Machado's prolonged decision-making didn't alter his fate as he exited in 40th place.
Andrew Hulme was all in for his last 800,000 from under the gun and up against Remy Murcia on the button.
Andrew Hulme: A♥K♠
Remy Murcia: 9♥9♣
Hulme needed to win the race to survive as the flop came 2♣6♠10♠. The Q♣ turn gave Hulme a straight draw to go with his overcards, but the river was the 9♠ and Murcia made a set to send Hulme to the rail.
In the dying embers of the previous level, Virgile Turchi opened to 80,000 from under the gun and called when Hugo Machado three-bet to 200,000 from the button.
Action checked through to the river for the final board to read K♠9♠7♠A♠6♠. Turchi, with just under 1,000,000, checked and snap-called when Machado jammed as the bigger stack.
Machado had A♦A♥ but played the flush on the board, while Turchi had the nuts with A♣Q♠. Macahdo was left short and was eliminated shortly after.
As that hand played out, Ankit Ahuja felted Pieter De Necker on another table. The latter limped in from under the gun and Ahuja checked his option from the big blind.
De Necker, fired bets on the flop and turn, and ripped it in on the river on the K♠2♣4♦3♣7♠ board. Ahuja called as the bigger stack. De Necker had 5x5x, while Ahuja had the winner with K♦Q♦.
Uri Gilboa raised to 80,000 in the hijack, Guido Pezzotta, left with 340,000 after losing the massive all in to Kin Hang Man a few hands earlier, moved all in from the small blind, and Gilboa called.
Guido Pezzotta: K♠J♠
Uri Gilboa: A♣10♣
The 3♣7♥10♠ flop gave Gilboa top pair, while Pezzotta couldn't connect with the 8♠ turn or 3♦ river and was sent to the rail.
Hugo Machado opened with a raise of 80,000 from under the gun, but Alessandro Adinolfo had different intentions. He went all in for 460,000, prompting Harry Lodge to follow suit with an identical 460,000 stack. Machado folded, leaving his initial 80,000 in the pot.
Alessandro Adinolfo: 8♠8♥
Harry Lodge: K♣K♠
With Lodge's kings holding the lead, Adinolfo hoped in vain for another eight on the 4♦4♠2♣6♥10♦ board, ultimately exiting the tournament in 44th place.
Around 600,000 was already in the pot as Guido Pezzotta and Kin Hang Man saw a flop of J♦3♦A♦. Hang Man then bet 100,000 from the cutoff before Pezzotta moved all in from early position. Hang Man looked up at the ceiling in anguish before calling for 725,000.
Kin Hang Man: A♣K♦
Guido Pezzotta: A♥Q♠
Both players had a pair of aces, but Hang Man was ahead with his king-kicker as the 4♦ turn also gave him a flush and a lock on the pot. The river was the 9♣ and Hang Man doubled up.
At another table, Alessandro Merelli was all in for around 750,000 from the hijack and up against Federico Fundaro in the small blind.
Alessandro Merelli: K♠K♦
Federico Fundaro: A♥Q♦
Merelli had picked up kings and stayed in the lead through the 6♣2♦7♣Q♣8♣ board to earn a double up.
Marco Gambini opened to 100,000 from early position and Uri Gilboa called from the button. Jonathan Bussieres jammed for 290,000 from the big blind and then Gambini moved all in for 550,000. Gilboa asked for a count before folding 7x7x.
Jonathan Bussieres: 5♦5♣
Marco Gambini: 6♠6♥
Gambini was delighted with Gilboa folding a higher pair and he held out to secure the KO after the K♠10♠K♥J♠Q♥ runout.
