Ruthenberg in Reverse

The German has lost a third of his stack in the last hour or so, but is among the leaders with approximately 200,000.

We are currently playing hand for hand until the bubble boy is announced.

Gustaffagone!

Ronnie Gustaffson has just been eliminated. His {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} came up against {A-Spades}{K-Spades}, and the board brought {8-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, counterfeiting his pair.

We have reached the pay bubble now. Unfortunately, the media has no access to the floor at this time, so we cannot update the chip counts for many players that have already been eliminated.

Pablo Rua takes a hit

On the last hand before the break he got involved in a pot with German player Michael Mücklisch. He hit a perfect low flop with his {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} only to be put to a decision for 50,000 chips by the German. He calls.

Mücklisch showed {A-Spades}{9-Spades} for a flush draw which he hit on the river and Mr. Rua goes on his break shaking his head and talking to himself. He's down to 50,000

Barnes out to Fougeron

Fougeron - Chip and a Chair
Fougeron - Chip and a Chair
David Barnes is out to Thomas Fougeron. Fougerons {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} held out to Barnes {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}.

Amazingly Fougeron thought his tournament was over yesterday afternoon as he quickly got his coat and left, only to be shouted back in to be told he had a mere 500 chips left. Since then he has amassed a stack of $60000 and put on a bit of a masterclass in the process.

Markus Golser is out

He had gotten very short after doubling up Miroslav Sima. Then had to move with {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}. I'm unsure of his opponent in the hand but it wasn't a huge pot.

{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs} on the flop.

{5-Hearts} on the turn

{Q-Clubs} the river means Golser's roller-coaster tournament is finally brought to a halt.
