59 Players Make It to Day 2

It seems like the extra blind level has done the trick, as we have lost all but 59 players.

Just spotted JP Kelly leaving; he was one of the last players to get busted.

That is pretty much everything from me; the official chip counts should be available tomorrow, and this is Barry Carter saying goodnight.

Hand Recap --- Bansi's Bounce

Just found out about Praz Bansi's downfall.

He put a player all in with {3-Hearts}{3-Spades} on a {2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} flop, only for a slightly shorter stack behind him to overcall with {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. The {5-Clubs} on the river sent a pot of over 40K the other way.

He eventually met his end with {A-Spades}{10-Spades}, which failed to improve against {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

Dropping Like Flies

After that rather timid period a couple of hours ago, I have seen three bustouts as I entered the card room. We are down to about 60 players with 15 minutes to go; the blinds and antes are really starting to have an impact.

Ja Ja Ja Ja Jaaaaaa!!!

That's what some random German player was screaming, as his all-in for three big blinds from first position won him a double-up. His {A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} rivered a flush against {A-Spades}{J-Spades}. For those of you who may not be as fluent in German as I am, "Ja" means "Yes."

Two slightly bigger stacks to look out for are Thomas Wahlroos, who has gone on a huge rush (up to over 60K), and Andreas Hagen, now on over 70K.
