Grundy Missing

I think Ben Grundy is out. The Milkybarkid's seat has been taken by a much larger stacked player and Ben is nowhere to be seen.

ElkY has 70,000
Katja Thater has 65,000

Andreas Hoivold is now struggling with around 10 big blinds on 16,500

There are ten minutes before the first break. At this rate we'll be done and dusted before dinner. 58 players remain.

Jelassi setback

We hear that Sweden's Ramzi Jelassi suffered a loss of some 40k when his pocket tens were outdrawn by pocket 8's, enabling the all-in player to double up substantially. We cannot be sure but judging by the size of Simone Rossi's stack (50k plus), it might well have been him.

We believe it is Rossi anyhow. It's a little tricky keeping up with who is sitting where as eliminations are coming thick and fast and our table seating diagrams are becoming redundant. Table 1, where Jelassi and Thomas Osmun are seated should remain fairly stable though.

The guy in seat 1, table 1 had over 80k when we last looked but it is not the original occupant. Half these players won't wear their name badges over their necks which is also a hinderence in identification.

93 players started less than two hours ago, and we have less than 60 now. It's carnage out there.

Matic was the Quad Queens Man

We mentioned the late drama last night with the quad queens over aces in which Simon Kelly was cruelly denied perhaps the chip lead. We have now identified the assailant as none other than USA's Roberto Matic. No wonder he appeared from nowhere on the leaders list.

As we said at the time, the victor's table manners were not top drawer when Kelly took that blow to the ribs. The hooting and hollering after the fortunate flop came straight from WPT TV land. Then again, there was a TV camera present, filming Marcel Luske's last gasps in this EPT.

70 Players Left

It looks like we're in for a short day today. Only 70 players remain right now. That's 23 out in the first two levels.

We'll have another player count at the end of this level whilst the players are on their break.

David Welch doubles through

UK's David Welch, who survived narrowly earlier on, was needing to move with around 10k left. He made this move after Tom Schasfoort made it about 4k to go. Welch reraised to 10k all-in. After a short delay the call was made.

Schasfoort showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. Welch {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

The flop was sweet for Welch, {J-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for a set.
The turn and river showed {Q-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

Osmun keeping busy

US-based Thomas Osmun looks for someone to talk to
US-based Thomas Osmun looks for someone to talk to
Thomas Osmun is keeping the heat on at Table 1. It is a quiet and intense table. Only Osmun is talking and was even moved to say "This is too noisy for me!" He may as well talk to himself so he is making moves preflop to take the 4,000 now available in blinds and antes.

Ross Boatman Eliminated

Ross Boatman has been knocked out. I missed the early pre-flop betting but it appears a raise from Ross was met by an all-in re-raise. Ross pushed and his {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} was in poor shape against the {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} of Jacob Juhl

The flop was no help to Ross. The turn and river were of equal disappointment.

Ross joins his brother, Barny, on the rail. No joy for the Boatmans or the third member, from the four who made the trip to Warsaw, of The Hendon Mob - Joe Beevers, in this EPT
