"You Gonna take all my Chips now"

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Tobias Reinkemeier
Tobias Reinkemeier

After the previous beat for Mustapha Kanit, the Italian flat-called a raise to 35,000 by Tobias Reinkemeier and Brian Roberts as well as Vladimir Troyanovskiy in the blinds tossed in the extra chips as well. On the {9-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {3-Diamonds} flop, the action was checked to Reinkemeier and he bet 80,000, which was only called by Kanit. On the {8-Hearts} turn, the Italian got his remaining 271,000 chips in with {A-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} and Reinkemeier looked him up with {Q-Clubs} {Q-Spades}. The {9-Hearts} on the river was a brick and Kanit doubled.

One hand later, Kanit opened to 33,000 from early position and Reinkemeier defended his big blind. On the {9-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {3-Hearts} flop, the German check-called a bet of 36,000 and did so again on the {K-Clubs} turn for 107,000. The {6-Diamonds} on the river triggered another check by Reinkemeier and he then faced a hefty bet of 316,000.

"You gonna take all my chips now?" he asked towards Kanit. Some small talk back and forth followed and Reinekemeier ultimately made the call. Kanit announced a flush and then tabled {8-Clubs} {10-Clubs}, which would take down the pot. Both players have exchanged their roles in the leader board within a matter of 10 minutes.

Helppi a Millionaire

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Jean-Noel Thorel now in need of a double up
Jean-Noel Thorel now in need of a double up

Martin Jacobson opened to 35,000 from the hijack and his neighbor Juha Helppi in the cutoff made the call. Stephen Chidwick thought about it for a little bit, and all of the sudden Jean-Noel Thorel announced "Reraise!" before pushing 191,000 forward. Chidwick knew enough, laughed a bit, and folded. Thorel's three-bet stood and Jacobson moved out of the way.

Helppi wasn't so quick to give up though and thought for a bit. He eventually pushed all in for 588,000 and Thorel snap called.

"Ahh merde!" said Thorel with a quiet voice as he discovered his {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} was in bad shape against Helppi's {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}.

The flop came about as good as they could come for Thorel though: {J-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades}. Helppi was literally holding his breath as the dealer burned and turned the {9-Spades}. The {4-Diamonds} river followed not much later and Helppi now breathe a sigh of relief.

Steve O’Dwyer and Ole Schemion Eliminated By Martin Jacobson

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

The action started with Steve O’Dwyer moving all in for his last 98,000 in chips. As soon as Ivan Soshnikov folded his button, Ole Schemion moved all in over the top for 181,000 from the small blind. It took Martin Jacobson only a few seconds to announce call having both players covered.

O’Dwyer: {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Schemion: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Jacobson: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

The dealer spread out the {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{a-Clubs} flop giving Jacobson the commanding lead over his two opponents. The board ran out the {2-Clubs} and {k-Clubs} to see Jacobson improve to a straight as he eliminated a further two players from the event.

Kabrhel Busts to Reinkemeier

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Martin Kabrhel
Martin Kabrhel

The action folded to Tobias Reinkemeier in the small blind and he asked Martin Kabrhel in the big blind for his stack. "About 200 (thousand) and change," the Czech said. Reinkemeier then grabbed three green T-100,000 chips to put his opponent all in. Kabrhel, with a dead serious tone in the voice, asked the dealer "how much?" The opponents at the table started laughing and the Czech then added "that was a joke by the way."

Kabrhel needed another 30 seconds to make the call and then flipped over {A-Hearts} {4-Clubs}. Reinkemeier held {J-Clubs} {J-Spades} and the Czech was drawing dead after the turn of a {7-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {A-Spades} {A-Clubs} board. There will now be a short break to do the redraw of the last two tables.

Pablo Fernandez Eliminated By Brian Roberts

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Pablo Fernandez
Pablo Fernandez

The hand started with Brian Roberts raising to 28,000 from the cut off. Pablo Fernandez opted to move all in for his last 132,000 from the big blind and was called almost instantly.

Roberts: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Fernandez: {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

It was looking like a certain double-up for Fernandez as the dealer spread out {6-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} but it would be the {q-Diamonds} on the river pairing up Roberts that would see the end to Fernandez’s title hopes.

Raskin Busts with Kings to Tens in 1.4 Million Pot

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Micah Raskin
Micah Raskin

We just witnessed Olivier Busquet moving all in on a flop and Ivan Soshnikov tanking. Just one table behind us Micah Raskin was dumbfounded and verbally let the table know he was. We quickly turned around and wrote down the board of a 1.4 million pot.

We later found out that Raskin had opened to 25,000 and Leonid Markin had made it 75,000. Raskin then four bet to 140,000 and Markin shoved for effectively just over 700,000. Raskin had called.

Raskin had pocket kings and Markin was holding pocket tens. You might have guessed by now what had happened; a ten on the flop: {10-Hearts}{A-Spades}{2-Spades}. The {J-Diamonds} on the turn and {3-Clubs} on the river didn't help Raskin and after some counting it turned out Raskin was covered.

Bryn Kenney Eliminated By Ivan Soshnikov

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

Bryn Kenney raised to 22,000 from under the gun plus one. Ivan Soshnikov was in the hijack and bumped it up to 47,000 as the decision fell back on Kenney. He opted to move all in for around 150,000 in chips and was snap called.

Kenney: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Soshnikov: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Kenney was in big trouble against the monster pair held by Soshnikov and would find no help as the board ran out {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Spades} to see him eliminated from the tournament.

Fedor Holz Eliminated By Leonid Markin

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

Isaac Haxton raised to 20,000 from late position before Fedor Holz moved all in from the hijack for his remaining 133,000 in chips. Leonid Markin was next to act and made the call as the player on the button and blinds folded. Haxton also got out of the way before the two players tabled their cards.

Holz: {K-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Markin: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Holz was behind and would find no help as the board ran out {7-Spades}{9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} to see him hit the rail.

Adams Down to 4,000 - Makes Comeback

Level 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Timothy Adams
Timothy Adams

After a big hand with Sorel Mizzi (where Mizzi had pocket fours if we're correct) Timothy Adams was down to 5,000. After having to pay the ante he had just 4,000 left. We stuck around to see what would happen, and got treated to a good ol' comeback story.

1) Action folded to Adams on the button who pushed for 4,000. Jacobson completed the small blind, Leonid Markin checked his big blind. Jacobson and Markin checked the entire board of {10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} and Markin won the side pot with {5-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for nine-high. Jacobson had {6-Spades}{3-Hearts} and mucked. The main pot went to Adams with his unimproved {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}.

2) Thorel opened to 16,000 under the gun and Martin Kabrhel made the call in the hijack. Adams shoved for 18,000 from the cutoff and Markin in the small blind made the call. Fedor Holz in the big blind pushed for 196,000 and Thorel, Kabrhel and Markin all folded. Adams was holding {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and was up against Holz' {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. The board ran out {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Adams just about quintupled his stack.

3) Adams open shoved and next door neighbor Martin Jacobson made the call for 91,000. All other players folded and Adams showed his {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}. Jacobson showed {A-Spades}{K-Spades} and they were off to the races again. The {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Diamonds} board improved no one and Adams was back at it.

4) Adams opened under the gun to 18,000 and Leonid Markin made the call in the hijack. On {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs} it was Adams who c-betted 25,000 and Markin folded.
