Break

62 out of 267 players made the final break of the day, with just one more level to be played before chips are virtually bagged. After that, players will have just shy of an hour to prepare for Day 2 which will commence at 8:05 p.m. GMT

Nuter Spikes the Four

Gottlieb isn't the only one with six shells in the event, as Timothy Nuter is also trying to recoup his investment of $61,800 and parlay it into a big payday. After a raise from Nuter and a call from Aleks "JustaMortal" Dimitrov, Antonio Mirotta put his small stack of 97,546 in the middle.

Nuter isolated by coming over the top for 556,070, and Dimitrov called it off after long though to create a pot of over 1M.

Antonio Mirotta: {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Timothy Nuter: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Aleks "JustaMortal" Dimitrov: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

The virtual dealer fanned out a board of {5-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for Nuter to hit the two outer and take a nearly 1M sidepot off Dimitrov. Mirotta took the main pot with a wheel.

Gottlieb Takes the Lead

Gottlieb holds
Gottlieb holds

Level 19: 5,000/10,000/1,250

It took him six bullets, but it turns out sixth time is the charm as Lev "LevMeAlone" Gottlieb claimed the chip lead in the late stages of the day. In a blind on blind battle against Farid Jattin, Gottlieb raised and called off a 22 big blind shove with {k-Spades}{8-Spades} to win against Jattin's {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

Moved to a different table, Gottlieb was then able to get Markku "ExVang" Koplimaa to make a move on him. On a {3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop, Gottlieb checked and Koplimaa bet 22,572. Gottlieb check-raised to 60,042, Koplimaa shoved for almost 175K and Gottlieb called it off.

Markku "ExVang" Koplimaa: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}
Lev "LevMeAlone" Gottlieb: {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The {2-Clubs} turn and {2-Diamonds} river kept Gottlieb in the lead to eliminate Koplimaa from contention.
