Javier Gomez
Javier Gomez

2015 WPT Prague Champion Javier Gomez has vaulted into the chip lead here, on over 700,000 now.

The big hand that got him there started with the cutoff making it 8,000, and Gomez three-betting out of the small blind to 25,000. The cutoff called, and Gomez led around 30,000 into the {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-} flop. The cutoff called again, and the turn came an offsuit {7-}.

Gomez fired again, making it 72,000 and the cutoff called. Finally, on the offsuit {6-} river, Gomez jammed for around 200,000. The cutoff called with a set of nines, but had been outdrawn by Gomez two tens for the straight.
