Dayan Snatches Lead

Matthias Habernig opened to 130,000 from the button and Dayan Vardanega made the call from the big blind.

Having the {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flopped checked to him, Habernig fired out 155,000, only to have Vardanega make it 335,000 to go.

Habernig made the call as the dealer dropped the {3-Diamonds} on the turn and Vardanega checked once again. Habernig opted to fire out with a 390,000-chip bet, only to Vardanega check-raise once again; this time amounting to 800,000.

Instantly the Austrian tossed his cards into the muck to see Vardanega collect the pot and move to 4,200,000 as Habernig slips to just over 2,900,000.

On the turn, the board read {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades} and Dayan Vardanega checked to Matthias Habernig. He fired a bet of 225,000 before Vardanega was check-raised to 485,000. Habernig tanked for a bit and then made the call.

The river card completed the board with the {9-Clubs} and Vardanega moved all in for about 700,000. Habernig quickly called him with the {7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. His trip fours were beat though by the {K-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for Vardanega and a full house.

With that pot, Vardanega was able to double up and the chips now stand 3.15 million for Vardanega and 4.053 million for Habernig.

Heads Up!

Who will be hoisting this over their head?
Who will be hoisting this over their head?

With the elimination of Alexandre Richard Martins, we're now heads up between Matthias Habernig and Dayan Vardanega. Habernig qualified for this tournament online at PokerStars and will be the favorite given his big chip lead going into heads-up play. Vardanega won his seat to this event in a drawing. Out of the few hundred names in the drawing, Vardanega was the lucky one who got picked. Looks like he's making the most of that freeroll for sure.

Habernig - 5,730,000
Vardanega - 1,400,000
