Welcome to Day 1b of the LAPT Chile
Yesterday, Season 5 of the Latin American Poker Tour kicked off at the Enjoy Casino & Resort in Vina del Mar, Chile with Day 1a, which drew 284 entrants including 203 Chileans. By night’s end, approximately 89 players survived to Day 2 including last year’s sixth-place finisher Daniela Horno, twin brothers Carlos Perez & Luis Perez, former LAPT final tablist Brent Sheirbon, and reigning LAPT Player of the Year Pablo Gonzalez, and chip leader Waldermar Barrientos, who bagged up 140,300.
Today Day 1b action will commence, and we’re expecting an even larger turnout including some new Team PokerStars Pros like Nacho Barbero (Argentina), Humberto Brenes (Costa Rica) and Andre Akkari (Brazil). Unfortunately the two Team PokerStars Pros in action on Day 1a, Leo Fernandez (Argentina) and Freddy Torres (Online), were both eliminated late in the evening.
Can Day 1b attract 338 players and surpass last year’s record-setting field of 621? Only time will tell.
