Vos Gets Aanquich Again

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

On the river of a {8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Hearts} board, Pascal Vos bet 14,500 against Hrazem Aanquich and the two had previously battled already. Aanquich called but then mucked when he was shown {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} to drop down to less than 20 big blinds.

Below are some further updated counts of the tables nearby.

The Power of Chips

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Wim Emo raised to 6,500 and Makarios Avramidis then three-bet to 15,000 before Ari Engel squeezed to 36,500. Only Avramidis called and they saw the flop {J-Spades}{A-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Avramidis check-called a continuation bet worth 27,000 and made a massive bet of 109,000 on the {K-Clubs} turn.

Engel spent a long time in the think tank and eventually time was called on him. The minute ran down without any decision and Engel's hand went into the muck at the very last second of consideration.

Hansen Escapes; Two Others Don't

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Johnny Hansen three-bet shoved his short stack into an open raise by Georgios Zisimopoulos and the Greek eventually folded his {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} to get shown a {7-Clubs} by the Dane.

Clyde Tjauw Foe isolated a jack-high flop with {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} against one other player and a short stack already being all in. The third player in the hand folded and the short stack was drawing dead by the blank turn already with his {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}.

And then there was another seat open one table over, causing the tournament staff to move over Michiel Brummelhuis to balance. The chips of the busted player now belong to Johan Verhagen.

Berende's Aces Cracked

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Paul Berende
Paul Berende

On the {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} turn, Paul Berende check-called a bet of 29,000 and checked again the {2-Hearts} on the river. Martin Finger now slid forward a tower of T-10,000 chips to put his opponent all in and Berende called off for around 100,000 chips with the {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}. Finger had out flopped his opponent with the {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and scored a big knockout.

Nevanlinna Busts Koren

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Artur Koren
Artur Koren

Artur Koren got into a raising war with table neighbor Jussi Nevanlinna and called the four-bet shove of the Finn for 139,400 with {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. Nevanlinna had the {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} and the {A-Hearts} on the flop locked up the double.

With 10,000 chips left, Koren got the stack in holding {7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Nevanlinna held {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} to once again find the {A-Hearts} on the flop.

De Jong Doubles with Queen High

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Ole Schemion raised from the button and Willem de Jong defended his big blind to see the flop {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. De Jong moved all in for 31,000 and Schemion eventually called, showing {8-Spades}{7-Hearts} for the straight draw. De Jong was bluffing with {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}, but his queen high turned out to be the winning hand after {6-Spades} turn and {2-Diamonds} river filled up the board.

The Dutchman grinned and high-fived with his table neighbor while Schemion could not help but laugh about it as well.

O'Dwyer Doubles

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

The table of Juha Helppi is nine-handed again after the arrival of Andrew Leathem and Donald Rae and the Finn said with his typical Scandinavian accent that Steve O'Dwyer had doubled up through him with jacks versus aces not long ago.

Helppi then saw Ari Engel raise to 7,000 from under the gun and called in middle position, Makarios Avramidis also called out of the big blind. On the flop {6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts}, the action was checked to Engel and he continued for 10,500. Helppi raised to 25,000 and that won the pot without further resistance.

Verhagen and Sointula Bust Opponents

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

One player that had just been moved over to the table of Jani Sointula got his stack of 10 big blinds in with the {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Sointula with an almost even stack went into the showdown with {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}. The Dutchman had a ton of outs on the board {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{J-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{K-Spades} but ultimately failed to improve.

Youssef Mazraoui also joined the rail. He was all in with {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} out of the big blind against Johan Verhagen and the latter had the dominating {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. The {5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop was a great one for Mazraoui, but the {8-Clubs} turn and {9-Hearts} river counterfitted his full house to award the pot to the better hand preflop.

Only 61 players remain and 36 will make the money.
