Chaoui Climbing on Day 2

Level 16 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

In a four-way pot with 54,000 in the middle, the flop came {q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades} and action checked around.

On the {4-Clubs} turn, Medhi Chaoui put out a bet of 21,000 from the small blind and Argery Argyrou called from the big blind. The other two players folded.

On the {q-Clubs} river, which put a third queen on the board, Chaoui checked over to Argyrou, who bet 25,000, leaving 64,000 chips behind. Chaoui took his time and nearly needed another 30 seconds before making the call.

Argyrou could only produce a {6-Hearts}{5-Spades} missed straight draw while Chaoui turned over {2-Hearts}{2-Spades} and took down the pot.

Ercan Hasan
Ercan Hasan

Argery Argyrou: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Argyrou was flipping for his tournament life and even though there was a jack in the window, the flop came {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs} to give Hasan middle set, leaving Argyrou only to smile at his bad fortune.

The {7-Clubs} and the {a-Hearts} completed the board and Hasan continued to stack chips on a very profitable Day 2 thus far.

After Argyrou had left the tournament area, Hasan looked around the table and, quietly, asked: "Who's next?"
