The third starting flight out of five for the Merit Poker Classic $5,300 Main Event starts at noon today. The first two days attracted 254 entries in total and 123 players have already made it through to Day 2 with Alexandru Papazian ahead of the pack right now. Day 1c at the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino is expected to be the busiest day of all as it is the last of the ones which will have eight full levels of 60 minutes of play.
Players will start with 100,000 in chips and can reenter an unlimited number of times. A 10-minute break has been scheduled after every two levels. The tournament features a big blind ante throughout and level duration will increase to 75 minutes from Day 2 onwards. The late registration and reentry period will remain open until the end of the break after Level 12 which is at approximately 5:30 PM local time.

An amazing $3,000,000 has been guaranteed for the Main Event and players from all over the world have flocked to this beautiful island to compete for their share! Day 1d starts just after the chips have been bagged and even though there will be no live coverage for the turbo flights, the chip counts for both Day 1d and 1e will be posted as soon as the organization sends them out.

Garik Tamasyan raised to 1,500 from under the gun and was called by Anton Morgenstern in the hijack, the player on the button and Uri Gilboa in the small blind.
The flop came , Gilboa checked, Tamasyan continued with a bet of 3,500 that only Morgenstern called.
The turn was the , Tamasyan barreled a bet of 10,000 over the line now but Morgenstern raised to 31,000. Tamasyan checked his cards once more before opting to fold.

The first "seat open" was announced by one of the dealers and Aristeidis Moschonas could be seen stacking up chips while Sergey Verkhoturov was making his way out of the tournament area.
Moschonas said he had gotten lucky, he four-bet with kings and Verkhoturov had five-bet shoved with queens. End of story.
