Taha Maruf Eliminated in 21st Place ($19,000)

Taha Maruf - 20th Place
Taha Maruf - 20th Place
Alan Sternberg's been playing well so far today. He's also had excellent timing and a good dosage of run-good. He opened the button to 50,000 and was called by big blind Taha Maruf. Maruf shoved for 217,000 on a flop of {7-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {5-Clubs}. Sternberg asked for a count and then called.

Maruf: {A-Diamonds} {2-Clubs}
Sternberg: {K-Clubs} {10-Clubs}

"I'd rather you have the 7," Sternberg admitted. It didn't matter; he promptly filled his flush draw with the {4-Clubs} turn. Once the {Q-Diamonds} fell on the river, Maruf was on his way to collect $19,000.

Brandon Hall
Brandon Hall
Brandon Hall raised from the small blind to 60,000 after action folded to him. Scott Seiver called from the big blind.

The two took a flop of {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Hall continuation bet 75,000. Seiver called. The turn was the {Q-Hearts} and both players checked. The river fell with the {K-Spades} and Hall fired 150,000. After a moment, Seiver mucked his hand and Hall scooped the pot.

Seiver Mucks Before Bax Shows

Action folded to Scott Seiver on the button and he limped. Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy was in the small blind and completed before Elio Fox checked in the big blind.

The three saw a flop of {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts} and action checked around to see the {A-Diamonds} fall on the turn. Bax led for 30,000 and only Seiver called.

The river was the {K-Diamonds} and Bax checked. Seiver checked behind and then flung his hand into the muck. Bax tabled {A-Spades}{2-Clubs} to scoop the pot.

From under the gun, Dale Jamison min-raised to 40,000. Andrew Ferguson was on the button and reraised to 125,000. Jamison moved all in and Ferguson quickly met him with a call.

Ferguson held the {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and Jamison the {A-Spades}{6-Spades}.

The flop came down {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades} to keep the shorter-stacked Ferguson in the lead. The turn added a nice sweat with the {4-Spades}, giving Jamison a flush draw. The river blanked off with the {6-Diamonds} though. Jamison sent the chips over, 674,000 total, and was left with just 320,000.
