Travis Klein Eliminated in 19th Place ($19,000)

Travis Klein - 19th Place
Travis Klein - 19th Place
Alan Sternberg fired 65,000 on a board of {K-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades} against Travis Klein. Klein made the call and the turn was dealt the {4-Diamonds}.

Sternberg didn't slow down and fired 126,000. After about 30 seconds, Klein announced that he was all in, a bet worth 460,000. Sternberg snap-called with bottom set of deuces. Klein held {K-Spades}{10-Spades}.

The river was the {J-Diamonds} and that was it for Klein. Sternberg bumped himself up to 2.3 million.

Hilarity Ensues

Oops.
Oops.
There's a lot of pressure now that we're down to 18 players left. Each of the remaining players is very close to a huge payday. Sometimes it seems the pressure gets the better of them.

James Casement opened to 45,000 from middle position. Action passed to Vanessa Selbst, whose re-raise to 150,000 cleared every one else out of the hand. Casement then said, "I call," and turned up {K-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}. The problem was that he had about 450,000 total and Selbst had only raised to 150,000!

"It's just 150," the dealer told Casement.

Casement flushed slightly and closed his hand. "I'm all in then."

"You can't go all in," the dealer reminded him. "You said you call."

Casement put in the chips for a call. To the amusement of the rail, the flop came king-high, {K-Spades} {j-Clubs} {2-Clubs}, and Casement checked!

"Are you really checking?" Selbst asked, stupefied. "Alright I check."

The turn came a brick, {4-Hearts}. Casement moved all in and Selbst snap-folded.

"You think I'm going to hit my eight and catch up?" she asked Casement. "Oh, I hit a set. I can't fold it!" The table erupted in laughter.

"Write that one up, boys," Mike Beasley instructed the assembled media. "That's a good one."

Beasley Makes Full House

Mike Beasley raised the button and made it 46,000 to go. Vanessa Selbst called from the big blind. After a flop of {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, both players checked.

The turn brought the {K-Hearts} and Selbst passed to Beasley again. He fired 41,000 and Selbst made the call. The {A-Diamonds} then landed on the river and Selbst checked. Beasley immediately tapped the table behind and then rolled over the {K-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Selbst mucked and Beasley was pushed the pot.

Ian Palomo Eliminated in 18th Place ($19,000)

Ian Palomo - 18th Place
Ian Palomo - 18th Place
Ian Palomo is out of the tournament. He three-bet shoved for about 550,000 after Vanessa Selbst opened the button to 48,000. Selbst quickly called, tabling {9-Spades} {9-Diamonds}. Palomo opened {A-Spades} {j-Clubs} and the race was on. This one went to Selbst, {3-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {K-Spades} {4-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}.

Palomo will collect $19,000 in prize money. Selbst collected Palomo's chips to crest the 3,000,000-chip mark.

Rousso Sliding

Rousso
Rousso
Vanessa Rousso raised to 50,000 in the cutoff and Alan Sternberg was the lone caller on the button.

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and Rousso bet 85,000. Sternberg called and the {10-Spades} turn card followed. Vanessa bet 100,000 and Sternberg was not going anywhere, making the call. Both checked the {J-Spades} river card and Vanessa was not happy to see Sternberg turn up {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for a pair of tens.

She mucked and is down to about 485,000. Sternberg continues to build his stack with more than 2.5 million.

Seiver Struggling

As right as everything went for Scott Seiver yesterday is how poorly things are going for Seiver today. He still has a very healthy stack but he just can't seem to gain any traction.

Sitting in the big blind, Seiver called a standard pre-flop raise made by Derek Raymond. Both players checked the flop, with Seiver again checking on the turn. On a board of {Q-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {6-Clubs}, Raymond bet 78,000. Seiver called. Both players checked the {K-Clubs} river. Raymond turned up {4-Diamonds} {4-Spades}. Seiver shook his head, peeked at his cards, and mucked.

Cliff Josephy, to Seiver's left, was standing up from his chair and typing on his phone. Seiver thought Josephy may have caught a glimpse of Seiver's cards.

"You see my old ace-three suited in the hole?" Seiver asked.

Josephy shook his head no, then added, "He couldn't have beat you by any less."

Bax Getting Battered

Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy has been raising many pots at his table, but since he's sitting at the toughest one in the room, he hasn't been getting too many raises through. In one hand, he opened under-the-gun to 50,000. Derek Raymond bumped it 165,000, and Bax tanked for a minute before folding. Two hands later, Jordan Morgan opened under-the-gun and Brandon Hall three-bet from the button. Bax looked like he was going to make a move from the small blind, but after another trip to the tank, he mucked with a grimace. That whole table is counting the seconds until one more elimination triggers a much-needed redraw.

Beasley Bullies Jetten

Mike Beasley
Mike Beasley
Mike Beasley limped, and somehow Vanessa Selbst folded her small blind. Petter Jetten raised from the big blind. Beasley called to see the {5-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} flop. Jetten bet out 100,000 in pink chips, and Mr. Aces Suck raised to 250,000. That was enough for him to take it down.
