Fox Pounces On Rousso's Limp

From middle position, Vanessa Rousso open-limped again as she has been doing quite often when she enters a hand. Action then folded to Elio Fox in the small blind and he moved all in for about 300,000. After Michael Woods folded the big blind, Rousso got an estimate on the price and then mucked {K-?}{Q-?} face up to allow Fox to scoop the chips.

James Casement Sr. Eliminated in 17th Place ($19,000)

James Casement Sr. - 17th Place
James Casement Sr. - 17th Place
Peter Jetten raised to 55,000 in the cutoff and James Casement Sr. called from the big blind.

The flop came down {10-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Casement checked. Jetten bet 65,000 and Casement went all in for about 380,000. Jetten insta-called and tabled {Q-Hearts}{9-Spades} for the flopped straight. Casement needed a lot of help, turning up {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}.

The {A-Hearts} turn card gave him a chance, but the river card was the {3-Clubs} and Casement is out in 17th place.

Peter Jetten is just shy of 1.2 million.

Things Still Not Going Seiver's Way

On the last hand before the re-draw, Scott Seiver called a pre-flop raise to 80,000 made by Brandon Hall. Both players checked the {K-Clubs} {6-Spades} {7-Diamonds} flop. Seiver also checked the {10-Clubs} turn. Hall fired 80,000 chips into the pot and Seiver called.

The river came {6-Clubs}. Seiver checked a third time, then sighed and looked pained when Hall bet 145,000. He called and mucked after Hall tabled {K-Spades} {4-Spades} for top pair.

Final Two Tables

Here's the redraw for the final two tables.

Table 1
Seat 1: Andrew Ferguson
Seat 2: Vanessa Selbst
Seat 3: Vanessa Rousso Team PokerStars Pro
Seat 4: Peter Jetten
Seat 5: Zachary Fritz
Seat 6: Michael Woods
Seat 7: Alan Sternberg
Seat 8: Elio Fox

Table 2
Seat 1: Jonathan "FatalError" Aguiar
Seat 2: Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy
Seat 3: Alistar Melville
Seat 4: Brandon Hall
Seat 5: Scott Seiver
Seat 6: Mike Beasley
Seat 7: Jordan Morgan
Seat 8: Derek Raymond

As you can see, Seiver's table has a lot of the same players that were on his starting table and in a similar order. Seiver and Aguiar both expressed their complaints about this, claiming that, "it's almost mathematically impossible to redraw like this." They argued that the seat cards weren't shuffled properly, but players at the other table witnessed the seat cards get shuffled and mixed up before they were passed out. That's just the luck of the draw, or not in this matter.

Sternberg's Day?

Alan Sternberg
Alan Sternberg
It may be Alan Sternberg's day today. He continues to make hands and avoid draws. He opened for 53,000 from middle position and was called by Andrew Ferguson. Sternberg continued for 65,000 on a flop of {Q-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}. Ferguson, silent for most of the day, raised that bet to 180,000.

Sternberg paused and asked Ferguson how much he was playing. Ferguson responded that he had close to a million chips. Armed with that information, Sternberg called.

Both players checked the turn {4-Clubs} and river {9-Hearts}. Sternberg opened top pair, {K-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}. Ferguson disgustedly flipped {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} into the muck, saying something about "a million outs".

Fritz Check-Shoves On Rousso

Zachary Fritz
Zachary Fritz
Elio Fox opened with a raise just above the minimum to 50,000 from middle position. Vanessa Rousso flatted on the button and then Zachary Fritz called from the big blind.

The flop came down {Q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Fritz checked. Fox checked as well, but not Rousso. She fired out 80,000 into her male counterparts. Fritz tanked for some time and then moved all in for 335,000. Fox ducked out of the way and Rousso went into the tank. She began trying to talk to Fritz and here are some of the things she said.

"I can't beat a queen, do you have a queen?"

"I don't think you have a set, you could have seven-right for a straight draw, that makes sense."

"I could be drawing to two outs and that would suck."

Eventually, she opted to fold and left herself with 470,000 chips. Fritz moved up to about 600,000.

Alistar Melville Doubles Through Cliff Josephy

Cliff Josephy called from the small blind and Alistar Melville bumped it to 75,000 in the big blind.

Josephy called and the flop came {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. Josephy checked and Melville bet a quick 80,000. "JohnnyBax" thought for a few moments before moving all in. Melville took about 15 seconds and called all in for 389,000, showing {A-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Bax turned over {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and when the {3-Clubs} hit the turn, he was drawing dead.

The river was a meaningless {9-Hearts} and Melville is up to just more than 800,000. Josephy slides down to 1 million.

Seiver Staunches the Bleeding

A frustrating day so far for Scott Seiver.
A frustrating day so far for Scott Seiver.
Two small pots have been shipped Scott Seiver's way. Given how things have gone for him today they probably feel like monumental victories.

First, Seiver opened from under the gun for 50,000 and was called by button player Cliff Josephy. Josephy made a quick call of another 80,000 on a flop of {5-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {J-Spades}. When the turn fell {7-Clubs}, Seiver fired again for 180,000.

"You have like 570 back, right?" Josephy asked. Seiver broke down his stack to show that Josephy was correct. Josephy took another thirty seconds to fold his hand.

The next hand, Seiver was in the big blind and called a raise to 55,000 made by Jordan Morgan. Morgan continued for 90,000 on a flop of {7-Spades} {J-Clubs} {9-Spades}, then snap-folded to Seiver's check-raise shove.
