Now that the bubble has burst, the remaining field will all make some money. Among the players still remaining and in store for a payday are poker pros Eric Baldwin, Phil Laak, Michael Binger, Jason Mericer, Matt Affleck, Anh Van Nguyen, George Lind, and Adam Junglen, just to name a few.

Carter King Bubbles NAPT Los Angeles

Carter King is the bubble boy!
Carter King is the bubble boy!

Carter King and Micah Raskin saw the flop come {8-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and King was first to act. He check-raised the flop to 25,000 before Raskin reraised to 100,000 straight. King moved all in for 177,000 and after a minute in the tank, Raskin called.

Raskin held just the {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for ace high against the {10-Spades}{9-Spades} for King. King was behind with just ten high, but he had straight and flush outs going for him.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs} to pair the board and then the river completed things with the {3-Clubs}. Neither the turn nor the river helped King and he hit the rail in 105th place. King won the 2008 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker Main Event, but he won't be winning the 2010 NAPT Los Angeles Main Event. Everyone left is now guaranteed a payday of at least $7,500.

"Dealers, Finish the Hand You're On and Stop"

Ah, how we love those words. And all 105 remaining players love those words too as it means we've arrived squarely on the money bubble. There's only room for 104 at the payout desk, so one more poor soul will have to take the walk of shame without compensation tonight.

We're dealing hand-for-hand until we find our bubble boy.

Break for the Race

We are just three spots from the money so play has slowed considerably. With a couple more eliminations, play will hit hand for hand. However, before that happens players will take their last ten-minute break of the night. Meanwhile, tournament staff will race off the black 100 chips.

Grippo Doubles Porter

Rep Porter shoved the river on a board of {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{K-Spades}. He was all in for 125,800 into a pot of about 140,000. Nick Grippo was the player he shoved into and he tanked for a few minutes. Eventually, Grippo made the call, but mucked his hand after Porter tabled the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}. Grippo was knocked back to 300,000 in chips.

Fitzgerald Folds Aces

Alex Fitzgerald fired 22,000 on the flop of {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. Mike Sowers made the call and the turn brought the {5-Clubs}, Fitzgerald checked and Sowers fired 38,500. After a long time in the tank, Fitzgerald folded the {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} face up and Sowers was pushed the pot. Sowers didn't show and moved to 365,000 in chips. Fitzgerald dropped to 93,000.

Kenney Beats Grippo

From early-middle position, Bryn Kenney raised to 10,300. Nick Grippo called from the small blind. The flop came down {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {4-Spades} hit the turn. Grippo checked and Kenney fired 12,400. Grippo called.

The river completed the board with the {7-Spades} and both players checked. Kenney tabled the {A-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for a pair of fours and Grippo mucked.

Van Alstyne Doubles Through Van Nguyen

From under the gun, Team PokerStars Pro Anh Van Nguyen raised to 8,000. James Van Alstyne flatted on the button and the small blind came along as well. The flop came down {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs} and the small blind checked. Nguyen fired 16,000 and Van Alstyne went all in for 37,900. After the small blind mucked, Nguyen tank-called, verbally hoping that Van Alstyne held a draw.

Nguyen: {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Van Alstyne: {A-Spades}{8-Spades}

The turn brought the {K-Spades} and the river the {5-Hearts} to keep Van Alstyne holding the best hand. He doubled up to about 80,000.
