More for Dawson

David Dawson
David Dawson

David Dawson felted Mohamad Saadeghvaziri once already today. Saadeghvaziri bought back in, but found himself back at Dawson's table and is once more having difficulty dealing with his one-time vanquisher.

Just now we came on a hand in which three players reached the turn with the board showing {K-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}, Saadeghvaziri fired 2,200, and after Suraj Dalal folded, Dawson called. The river was the {K-Diamonds}, and when Dawson fired 3,500, Saadeghvaziri let his hand go.

Dawson held up his hand — {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} — and afterwards Saadeghvaziri shook his head, saying he had pocket sevens. That hand appears to have pushed Dawson up around 100,000 as we cross the halfway mark of Level 4.

Andrews Active

After a player in middle position opened to 500 and Brian Meek called from the button, Cherish Andrews three-bet to 1,700 from the big blind.

Only Meek called, landing an {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop. Andrews bet 2,500, Meek called, and the {5-Diamonds} hit the turn. Andrews checked to Meek this time who fired 6,200. After a few moments, Andrews folded her hand.

Andrews Down, Not Out

After a fast start today, Cherish Andrews just ran into a tough spot to lose all of her chips. We'll be seeing her again, however, as she looks to be intending to re-enter.

Following her bustout, the remaining players at her table were sharing details of her remarkable 2012 WSOP, where she cashed six times including a final table in Event #31, a $1,500 no-limit hold'em event in which she finished fourth.

Glantz Forces Fold From Paredes

Matt Glantz
Matt Glantz

Pradeep Deshpande opened to 600 under the gun and found calls from David Paredes in the cutoff and Dan Spanton on the button. Matt Glantz was in the big blind and three-bet to 2,600, chasing away Deshpande.

Calls from Paredes and Spanton landed a {Q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop which Glantz bet 4,500 at. Only Paredes called to see the {4-Spades} turn and Glantz fired again, this time 9,500. Still unable to shake Paredes, Glantz shoved for about 15,100 when the {J-Clubs} river fell.

Paredes mulled it over for about 45 seconds, but ultimately gave it up.

Dalal With the Call

With the board showing {5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and a sizable pot already developed, Suraj Dalal fired a bet of 4,000, then saw Robert Wood reraise to 14,000 behind. Dalal tanked for a while, then tossed out the calling chips.

"Good call," said Wood instantly, even before Dalal tabled his {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}. Wood mucked, and Dalal scooped the pot.

Baumstein Bet Stymies Saadeghvaziri

Mohamad Saadeghvaziri bought back into the event after being felted by David Dawson, and soon got himself entangled in a knotty hand versus Scott Baumstein, sitting to Saadeghvaziri's left.

The hand began with Robert Wood limping from under the gun, then Baumstein raised to 550 from a seat over. Saadeghvaziri called as well, and it folded back to Wood who stuck around.

The flop came {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. Wood checked, Baumstein bet 925, then Saadeghvaziri raised to 3,025. Wood folded, and after pausing a beat Baumstein called.

Baumstein watched Saadeghvaziri as the turn card was dealt — the {5-Clubs} — then checked. Saadeghvaziri bet 4,025 this time, and Baumstein called.

The river then brought the {2-Diamonds}, and Baumstein responded with a big bet of 15,025. Saadeghvaziri hemmed and hawed a bit, then with a bit of frustration folded his hand face up — {6-Spades}{4-Spades} (two pair).

Tran Busts Kraut

Theo Tran
Theo Tran

A series of raises between Alan Kraut and Theo Tran led to Kraut being all in and at risk for about 28,000 with {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}. Tran had him dominated with {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and scored the elimination when the board ran out {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{K-Diamonds}.

Kraut immediately went to the registration desk and appears to be in the process of re-entering.

Dawson Sends One Up the Creek

We came on this hand with the board showing {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and about 7,000 already in the middle. Playing from the big blind, David Dawson led with a bet of 5,500, then Mohamad Saadeghvaziri reraised all in behind for approximately 12,000. A third player on the button folded, but Dawson called, turning over {K-Clubs}{K-Spades} (overpair) to Saadeghvaziri 's {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} (open-ended straight draw).

The turn was the {7-Spades} and river the {J-Spades}, and Saadeghvaziri is out, although it appears he is about to re-enter right away.

On the very next hand, Dawson would raise his small blind and take another small blind, then showed his hand — {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}. Things are going well for Dawson at the moment, who right now has one of the bigger stacks in the room with more than 85,000.
