Daniel Negreanu the First to Bust

Negreanu out early
Negreanu out early
Ian Frazer, Daniel Negreanu and Phil Laak all saw a flop of {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Frazer held {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, Negreanu held {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Laak held {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

"Bye, bye, Daniel," said Phil Hellmuth when he saw the cards and flop from the commentating booth.

Frazer checked and Negreanu bet 25,000. Laak raised to 69,000 and Frazer folded. Negreanu thought for a while, trying to pick up a read on Laak. Eventually, he moved all in for 260,000 and Laak snapped him off.

The turn and river were the {4-Spades} and {K-Clubs} respectively and that was all she wrote for Negreanu. It'll be hard for him to come back from a zero in the first heat after running into a tough spot.

Frazer Wins Small Pot with Kings

Ian Frazer raised to 17,000 with two black kings. Luke Schwartz was next to act and called with a dominated {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}. The flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{7-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn was the {8-Clubs} and a bet of 12,000 from Frazer was good enough to win the hand.

Rousso Traps Tran

Setting the trap nicely
Setting the trap nicely
JC Tran raised from the button and then Vanessa Rousso reraised from the small blind. Rousso was holding {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and Tran held {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. Tran made the call and then the flop came down {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Rousso's pair of aces was best and she checked. Tran bet 37,000 and Rousso just flat-called.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and Rousso checked again. Phil Hellmuth speculated that she was going to check-raise here, but after Tran bet 68,000, Rousso just called.

The river was the {Q-Hearts} and gave Rousso two pair. She checked again, really looking to trap Tran. He took a while before firing a big bet of 123,000. Rousso verified the amount and then quickly called, tabling her two pair for the best hand.
