Laak's Slowplay Wins Small Pot

Vanessa Rousso raised to 10,000 with the {K-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Phil Laak just smooth called from the big blind with a crushing hand -- {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}.

The flop came down {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Laak checked, maybe not wanting to see the ace that fell. Rousso didn't attempt to bet at it and just checked behind.

The turn card fell the {2-Hearts} and Laak fired 17,000. Rousso folded her hand and got away cheap for what could have been a disastrous hand.

Ian Frazer raised from the button after looking down at the {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. David Benyamine called from the small blind with the same suit, {K-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

After a flop of {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, Benyamine check-called a bet of 15,000 from Frazer. The turn and river both went check, check after the {4-Hearts} and {Q-Hearts} fell respectively. Benyamine tabled the winner and scooped the pot.

Tony G Can't Pull the Trigger

Tony G opened with a raise to 12,000 from late position with the {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Phil Laak reraised from the button to 39,000 with two black eights. Tony G opted to make the call out of position.

The flop came down {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Tony G checked. Laak fired 47,000 and Tony G thought about it for a little while before folding. He thought about pulling the trigger and stated that he was very near to doing so.

Tony G Staightens Benyamine

David Benyaine raised from the button to 6,000 with the {A-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Tony G called from the small blind with the {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Phil Laak folded the big blind with the {10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}.

The flop was {9-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and both players checked. After the {5-Clubs} fell on the turn, Tony G bet 7,000 and Benyamine called. The river was an interesting when the {A-Hearts} landed. Tony G opted to check and Benyamine fired 23,000 with his two pair. Tony G just called the bet and scooped the pot with his straight.

Tony G raised to 6,000 with the {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Giovanni Safina was in the small blind and called with the {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. Vanessa Rousso called in the big blind with the {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}.

The flop came down {8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs} and both Rousso and Tony G improved to two pair. Safina and Rousso checked and then Tony G bet 10,000. Safina folded and Rousso made the call.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and now both players held a full house, but Tony G's was a bit better. Rousso checked and Tony G fired 25,000. After a minute or so, Rousso made the call.

The river was the {2-Diamonds} and Rousso checked again. Tony G fired 50,000 into the pot of 88,000, sending Rousso into the tank. She had 243,000 chips left in her stack at the time Tony G bet the river and though about it for a few minutes. Eventually, she made the call.

"Two tens," announced Tony G.

"Nice hand, nice value bet," responded Rousso, dropping below 200,000 chips.

The Tran Train Crashes

An early exit for Tran
An early exit for Tran
Six players saw a flop of {9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, but it was JC Tran and David Benyamine who smacked it the hardest. Tran flopped bottom set with the {4-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Benyamine flopped top set with the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

Action checked all the way to Tran and he bet 21,000. Every folded back to Benyamine who was the player that checked last before Tran fired a bet. He just smooth called.

The turn card was the {J-Spades} and Benyamine checked again, setting a nice deep hole for Tran to fall into. Tran fired 42,000 and then Benyamine check-raised all in. Tran called all in for 133,000 total.

Tran got up and shook hands with everyone and exited the area even before the river was dealt the {3-Clubs}. There was no case-card miracle for Tran and he was sent packing as the first player out the door. He earned no points while everyone else is guaranteed at least two points.
