Day: 5
Kenny Nguyen Eliminated in 24th Place ($75,000)
Showdown
Nguyen:
D'Angelo:
The board would not save the at-risk player as it came . Everyone makes two pair, but D'Angelo's flush gets the best of that board.
With that, Kenny Nguyen becomes our first elimination of the day. He'll stop by the payout desk and grab a check for $75,000 on his way out the door, and now he has the rest of the day to spend on the beach.
Zamani Takes the First One
Fourth street brought the and another check from Zamani. D'Angelo fired out 160,000 chips, and his opponent came along with the call. The filled out the board, and Zamani knocked the table again. D'Angelo checked behind, and Zamani grimaced. He tabled for the trip kings, and that was plenty good enough to drag the pot.
D'Angelo - 7,230,000
Zamani - 2,250,000

PCA's Penultimate Day
Yesterday's play saw the field trimmed to the final 24 players, but that's still 16 too many to fit at one television table. This Day 5 figures to be an intense one as the field will be reduced down to the final eight, each with a shot at walking away with the inaugural NAPT title and $2.2 million in nonconsecutive unmarked bills.
Day 4 belonged to Ryan D'Angelo, oppressing his opponents with relentless aggression and working his stack up to a towering 7.483 million chips by night's end. That puts him more than 2 million chips in front of his nearest rival. There's still two full days of poker left to be played though, and perennial performers like John Duthie, Barry Shulman, and Robert Mizrachi will be doing their best to make things tough for D'Angelo.
We're about a half hour away from the scheduled starting time, and most of the room is eerily empty and devoid of activity. The only sounds are coming from the construction crew on the far end of the room as they assemble the final pieces of the EPTLive featured table arena. Soon enough, the final 24 will begin to trickle into their seats and unbag their chips for the push to the final table.
Sit tight; we'll be back with the shuffle up and deal.
