Day 2 Looms

Nick Yunis - Chip leader
Nick Yunis - Chip leader

Welcome back to the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure!

It's Day 2 of $25,000 High Roller, and Nick Yunis enters the day as the chip leader of the remaining 56 players with 407,100 chips. Bill Perkins (345,700), Taylor Paur (317,100), Keven Stammen (301,500), Chris Hunichen (271,000), Terje Augdal (270,000), Mike McDonald (267,500), Andrew Lichtenberger (248,000), Team PokerStars Pro Jonathan Duhamel (226,300), and Elio Fox (216,800) round out the top ten.

This was a re-entry event, and Yunis was one of the seven players that bought in twice. He is 4th in the European Poker Tour Player of the Year race, and he will look to add to his points total today.

There are a handful of Team PokerStar Pro players alive still, including Pierre Neuville, Ville Wahlbeck, Barry Greenstein, Joe Cada, Eugene Katchalov, and Jude Ainsworth.

We're 40 players away from the money, where the minimum cash is $58,020. The plan is the play until we reach a final table, and the cards will be in the air shortly.

Tens vs Nines All Over

From under the gun, Shaun Deeb raised to 5,100 and Team PokerStars Pro reraised to 15,000 out of the hijack seat. Action folded back to Deeb and he reraised all in. Greenstein called and put his 82,500 in chips on the line.

Greenstein: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Deeb: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

The flop, turn and river ran out {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Greenstein doubled up. Deeb was crushed down to just 11,000 in chips.

As Greenstein was doubling through Deeb on one table, Kristijonas Andrulis had Benny Spindler on the ropes on an adjacent table.

Spindler: {9-}{9-}
Andrulis: {10-}{10-}

The tens held for Andrulis and Spindler was eliminated from the tournament. Andrulis moved to about 125,000 in chips.

Wahlbeck Doubles

Ville Wahlbeck (Day 1) doubles.
Ville Wahlbeck (Day 1) doubles.

Lawrence Greenberg started the action, opening to 5,200 from the cutoff seat. Chino Rheem three-bet to 13,000 on the button, and Team PokerStars Pro Ville Wahlbeck four-bet to 31,500 from the big blind. Greenberg responded with a five-bet to 86,000, to which Rheem took his cards off the table and put them in front of his face. He shook his head then mucked his cards.

Wahlbeck tanked, then six-bet shoved. Greenberg called.

Showdown
Greenberg: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Wahlbeck: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran {j-Spades}{5-Clubs}{k-Spades}{3-Spades}{a-Hearts}, and Wahlbeck doubled to 270,000 chips.
