Marquez Smells Big Slick

Ana Marquez
Ana Marquez

Todd Terry raised with three yellow T1,000 chips in middle position, and Ana Marquez stuck in a three-bet from the blinds. It looked like 9,000, but Terry's response was an all-in shove for 49,000 total.

The move sent Marquez into the tank for a good while, but she would not call. "It smells like ace-king," she said pointing to her nose. She surrendered, and Terry dragged in a few more fighting chips. He started this Day 2 with 22,000, and he's increased that nearly threefold in the first two levels, almost enough for him to crack a smile about. But not quite.

Chidwick Takes Big Pot From Johnson

Picking up the action on the river of a {9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} board with about 63,000 in the middle, Marco Johnson was in the tank as he was facing a decision of 47,500 from Stephen Chidwick.

After about three minutes in the tank, Johnson called and wasn't thrilled about what he saw. Chidwick tabled {4-Hearts}{4-Spades} for a full house, besting Johnson's holdings to win the pot.

Klodnicki Knocked Back

An early-position player raised to 3,000 and Chris Klodnicki defended with a call from the big blind to see the flop come down {A-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}. Klodnicki bet out 3,500 and his opponent made the call.

The turn was the {Q-Diamonds} and Klodnicki bet again, this time for 8,500. His opponent called.

The river was the {2-Spades} and Klodnicki bet 10,000. His opponent quickly splashed in a raise to 35,000. Klodnicki mucked and dropped back to 110,000.

Ramdin Races Boeree

Victor Ramdin on Day 1
Victor Ramdin on Day 1

According to top-notch photographer Neil Stoddart, Victor Ramdin recently doubled through fellow Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree. Stoddart told the story visually of course, and through the LCD screen on his DSLR we learned that Ramdin held {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}, and Boeree {a-Diamonds}{k-}. The board was {2-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, and Ramdin won the race, doubling to 90,000 chips.

Boeree is in the danger zone - she only has 39,000 chips.
