Troyanovskiy Drops Below 2MM

Vanessa Selbst raised to 40,000 with {K-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Vladimir Troyanovskiy defended the big with {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. Both players then checked the {6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop, and the {5-Spades} appeared on the turn. Troyanovskiy led out for 70,000, Selbst called, and the {3-Clubs} completed the board on the river.

Troyanovskiy bet 180,000 and Selbst snap-called with two pair and a king kicker to win the pot. With that, Troyanovskiy dropped to 1,765,000.

Selbst Takes First Two

Vladimir Troyanovskiy opened to 85,000 on the button with {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}, Vanessa Selbst three-bet to 255,000 from the big blind with {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Troyanovskiy found a fold, and Selbst took the first pot.

On the second hand, Selbst opened to 80,000 on the button with {a-Spades}{9-Spades}, Vladimir Troyanovskiy defended with the {a-Hearts} and an unknown card. The flop fell {8-Hearts}{j-Spades}{8-Spades}, Troyanovskiy check-called a bet from Selbst, and the turn brought the {j-Clubs}. Troyanovsky check-called another bet, and the {6-Spades} completed the board.

Both players checked. Troyanovskiy showed {a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, which was no good against Selbst's flush.

Mike Watson Eliminated in 3rd Place ($462,320)

Mike Watson - 3rd Place
Mike Watson - 3rd Place

Mike Watson opened to 80,000 on the button with {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, Vanessa Selbst three-bet to 210,000 from the small blind with {k-Spades}{q-Spades}, and Vladimir Troyanovskiy folded {6-Hearts}{6-Spades} in the big blind. Watson called.

The flop fell {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}, Selbst led for 260,000, and Watson tanked for a minute or so before calling. The {q-Clubs} turned, and Selbst reached for chips, but eventually checked. Watson reached for yellow T25,000 chips, added a few blue T5,000 chips on top, then slid forward 320,000. Selbst called.

The {2-Spades} completed the board, giving Selbst a flush, and she checked, setting a trap for Watson. He walked right into it, moving all in for a pot-sized bet, and Selbst snapped it off.

Watson was eliminated in third place, and we are now heads up for the $25,000 High Roller championship!

Selbst Pulling Away

Vanessa Selbst is starting to pull away and seems intent on doing as much damage during three-handed play as possible.

In a recent hand, Mike Watson opened for 110,000 from the small blind with {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Selbst defended from the big blind with {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. The {Q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop saw Watson, who was the statistical favorite, bet 125,000, Selbst call, and the {8-Hearts} peel off on the turn.

Watson picked up a gutshot straight draw to go along with his flush draw, and he slid out a bet of 300,000. Selbst sat for a long time shuffling chips before moving all in, and Watson, who had been sitting motionless, looked down and shook his head. “How could you possibly choose that size?” he questioned of himself.

Watson mulled over the decision for a minute before tossing his cards to the muck and giving up on the hand. With that, Selbst chipped up to nearly 5.9 million while Watson dropped to under 1.9 million.

High Fives for Troyanovskiy

Vanessa Selbst opened for 80,000 on the button with {Q-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Vladimir Troyanovskiy called from the small blind with {5-Spades}{5-}. Mike Watson folded from the big, and it was heads-up action to the {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop, which both players checked.

When the {K-Diamonds} turned, Troyanovskiy bet 80,000, Selbst raised to 295,000, and Troyanovskiy called. Both players returned to checking on the {2-Clubs} river and Troyanovskiy tabled his hand to take down the pot.

Selbst Gets a Little from Watson

Mike Watson opened for 110,000 from the small blind with {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Vanessa Selbst defended from the big with {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}. The {J-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop saw Watson lead out for 125,000 with his pair of fours, Selbst called, and the {7-Diamonds} turn.

Both players checked, as they did on the {K-Spades} river, and Selbst tabled her hand and won the pot with a pair of sevens.

Ole Schemion Eliminated in 4th Place ($354,360)

Ole Schemion - 4th Place
Ole Schemion - 4th Place

Vladimir Troyanovskiy opened to 85,000 with {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, Ole Schemion three-bet to 200,000 on the button with two fives - leaving just 110,000 behind - and Mike Watson called in the small blind with {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Troyanovskiy folded.

The flop fell {j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, and Watson led out for 100,000, thinking he was putting Schemion all in. Schemion called, leaving just a few thousand behind, and the turn was the {j-Spades}. Finally, the money went in.

The German needed a five to stay alive, but the {k-Hearts} completed the board, and he was eliminated.

He earns $354,360, while Watson is now flirting with a three million-chip pot.
