Raskin Gets It in Good Again but Comes Up Short

Mickey Petersen, a member of PokerStars Team Online, raised to 24,000 from the cutoff and was met by a three-bet to 42,000 by Micah Raskin in the big blind. Petersen responded by moving all in for 240,000 and Raskin snap-called.

Raskin: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Petersen: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}

Once again Raskin got it in as a huge favorite, but lady luck was not in his favor. Instead, the {10-Spades}{K-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop delivered Petersen a pair of kings and the lead. Raskin could still pair his ace along with a gut-shot straight draw to a jack, but neither of those two things happened as the {4-Clubs} appeared on the turn followed by the {8-Clubs} on the river.

Christian Harder Eliminated in 16th Place ($69,980)

Christian Harder - 16th Place
Christian Harder - 16th Place

Christian Harder opened to 20,000 from late position, Shaun Deeb three-bet shoved for effectively 155,000 from the blinds, and Harder immediately called.

Harder: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Deeb: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

Deeb flopped a flush when the dealer fanned {8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}, and added two more outs when the turn brought the {10-Hearts}. Any ace, ten, or spade on the river would give him the best hand and eliminate Harder.

The {4-Spades} spiked on the river, giving Deeb his flush and eliminating Harder from the tournament.

Rachid Ben Cherif Eliminated in 17th Place ($59,980)

Rachid Ben Cherif - 17th Place
Rachid Ben Cherif - 17th Place

Rachid Ben Cherif had a heater earlier in the day, but since then his stack has done nothing but go down. To make matters worse, Cherif was just eliminated in one of the nastiest ways possible.

It happened when Nick Schulman opened for 20,000 under the gun and Cherif shoved all in for 259,000 from the small blind. Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst then asked for a count from the big blind before moving all in over the top. Schulman snap-folded and the cards were tabled.

Cherif: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Selbst: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

It was a race, but the {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop made Cherif a big favorite. In fact, the PokerNews Odds Calculator tells us that he was a 70.4% favorite to double. The {8-Diamonds} river made that 79.55%, but then the {8-Diamonds} spiked on the river to counterfeit Cherif and send him home in 17th place.

Martin Finger Eliminated in 18th Place ($59,980)

Martin Finger - 18th Place
Martin Finger - 18th Place

Martin Finger opened to 20,000 from the hijack seat, Vladimir Troyanovskiy three-bet to 52,000 from the big blind, and Finger called.

The flop fell {8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, Troyanovskiy led out for 52,000, and Finger moved all in for 250,000 or so. Troyanovskiy tanked for the better part of 90 seconds, then called.

Finger: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Troyanovskiy: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The turn and river bricked {7-Clubs}, {k-Spades} respectively, and Finger was eliminated.

Troyanovskiy, who started the day as the chip leader, is up to 980,000 chips.

Reinkemeier Binks Another Double

Faced with a three-bet from Rachid Ben Cherif, Tobias Reinkemeier moved all in for 217,000. Cherif snapped it off.

Cherif: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Reinkemeier: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

There was a pause so that the camera could get into position, and once they were rolling, the dealer fanned {8-Spades}{10-Spades}{k-Hearts}. Reinkemeier's set of tens held as the turn and river came {8-Clubs}, {6-Spades} respectively, and he doubled to 440,000 chips.

Cherif was left with just 170,000.

"That was a one-outer," Bryn Kenney said after the hand. "I folded ten-nine off."

"How the F*** Does He Get There?"

After Martin Finger had opened from the hijack, Micah Raskin three-bet from the cutoff to 45,000. Vladimir Troyanovskiy then four-bet to 95,000 from the big blind, Finger folded, and Raskin made the call. Troyanovskiy proceeded to lead out for 80,000 on the {J-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Diamonds} only to have Raskin instantly move all in.

Troyanovskiy called off for 262,000 total with {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and needed help against Raskin's {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Wouldn't you know it, he got it when the {Q-Clubs} turned to give him Broadway. The meaningless {3-Hearts} completed the board on the river and Troyanovskiy was pushed the pot.

"How the f*** does he get there like that?" a frustrated Raskin asked after the hand.

Ty Reiman Eliminated in 19th Place ($59,980)

Ty Reiman - 19th Place
Ty Reiman - 19th Place

A short-stacked Ty Reiman moved all in for 102,000 and action folded around to Micah Smith in the small blind. Smith obviously did not see Reiman's shove as he dropped in what he thought was a raise to just over 20,000. Ole Schemion, also oblivious to Reiman's shove, then dropped in enough to call Raskin's "raise."

The dealer, who had immediately announced that Reiman was all in, stopped the action. With the floor's assistance it was explained to Raskin that he had two choices: 1.) he could call the all-in shove or 2.) he could fold his hand and sacrifice his hand. Raskin, who was wearing headphones, chose the former option.

Given that the action had changed in front of Schemion, who was also wearing headphones, he was given the options of either calling or taking his chips back minus the big blind. He chose the latter, which left Reiman and Raskin heads up.

Raskin: {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Reiman: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}

Reiman got it in as a huge favorite, but that doesn't always matter in poker as he found out when the flop fell {3-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Spades}. Raskin paired his ten and was suddenly in the lead. Reiman was up out of his chair before the dealer even put out the turn, which was the {Q-Diamonds}. Reiman picked up a few more outs, but he'd be left wanting as the {4-Diamonds} blanked on the river.

Nine-High No Good

Chris Klodnicki opened to 22,000 on the button, Micah Raskin called in the big blind, and both players checked on a flop of {4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}, and Raskin led out for 20,000. Klodnicki raised to 60,000, and Raskin called.

The {j-Diamonds} completed the board, and Raskin slid out 100,000.

"Call," Klodnicki said immediately.

Raskin didn't table his cards right away, but finally did after Klodnicki repeated himself. He showed {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for nine-high, which Klodnicki had crushed with {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts} for two pair.
