Stein's Raise Does the Trick

Action folded to Sam Stein on the button and he raised to 17,000. After the small blind folded, Mike Watson three-bet to 44,000, Stein called and the flop fell {K-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Spades}. Watson thought for about 40 seconds before betting 45,000, and Stein thought for a little longer before raising it to 106,000. It proved enough to get the job done as Watson sent his cards to the muck.

One for Bucky

Shawn Buchanan
Shawn Buchanan

From early position, Sam Stein raised to 17,000. Shaun Deeb flatted from the hijack seat, then action folded to Shawn Buchanan in the small blind. He raised to 47,000, and Stein called. Deeb mulled it over for a minute, but then folded.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, and both players checked to see the {9-Hearts} land on the turn. Buchanan bet 36,000, and Stein folded his hand.

Schemion Takes More from Raskin

Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Ole Schemion opened to 16,000 from under the gun, and Micah Raskin called out of the big blind.

The dealer fanned {7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, and Raskin led out for 15,000. Schemion raised to 38,000, and Raskin called.

The turn was the {10-Hearts}, both players checked, and the {6-Hearts} completed the board. Raskin checked again, and Schemion slid out a monstrous, 141,000-chip bet.

Raskin immediately called.

Schemion turned over {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a flush, and pulled in the pot.

Selbst's Stay at the Top a Short One

By the time we arrived to Table 2, the chips were already in the middle and Nick Schulman was at risk for 333,000 holding {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. His opponent was none other than Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst, who had just taken over the chip lead. Unfortunately for her, she held the inferior {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and received no help as the board ran out {7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}.

Selbst slipped out of the chip lead, but she's still sitting with a healthy stack.

Raskin's Kicker Is No Good

We caught the action on the turn with a board reading {10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}. Both Micah Raskin and Ole Schemion put in 77,000 at that point, and then the {K-Spades} completed the board on the river. Raskin checked from the cutoff and then snap-called when Schemion bet 123,000.

Raskin then showed {K-Clubs}{6-} for trip kings, but it was no good as Schemion tabled {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for trip kings with a better kicker.

Joey Weissman Eliminated in 20th Place ($59,980)

Joey Weissman - 20th Place
Joey Weissman - 20th Place

From under the gun plus one, Joey Weissman raised all in for 77,000. Action then folded to Tobias Reinkemeier, and he made the call from the cutoff seat before play fell on Rachid Ben Cherif on the button. He slid out a tall stack of yellow T25,000 chips for a reraise to 500,000.

Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst was next to act in the small blind. She looked at her hand, capped her cards with a chip, then tanked. After about two minutes, Selbst announced that she was all in.

Nick Schulman quickly folded from the big blind, and Reinkemeier also folded, leaving three-handed action with both Weissman and Selbst at risk.

Ben Cherif had the most chips and held the {A-Spades}{K-Spades}. Selbst had the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, and then the shortest stack, Weissman, held the {J-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

On the flop, the {Q-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} fell, and Selbst picked up a set of queens. The turn was the {J-Hearts}, which left Ben Cherif with a chance if a ten peeled on the river. Weissman was drawing dead at this point.

After the {A-Clubs} fell on fifth street, Selbst could breathe out and begin to collect her pot. She was all in for 659,000 and skiyrocketed all the way up to just under 1.5 million in chips.

Troyanovskiy Bouncing Back

Vladimir Troyanovskiy opened to 16,000 from the cutoff seat, Mike Watson defended his big blind, and the flop came {7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Watson checked, Troyanovskiy continued for 16,000, and Watson called.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds}, Watson checked again, and Troyanovskiy fired 47,000. Watson tank-called.

The river was the {q-Diamonds}, and Troyanovskiy led out for a third and final time, betting 88,000. Watson folded, shaking his head, and Troyanovskiy raked in the pot.
