Laliberté Over-Jams the River

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

With around 60,000 in the middle, and the board reading {j-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}, Guy Laliberté moved all in for 127,500.

Perplexed, his opponent Jason Mercier shifted in his seat. The American went deep into the tank, stroking his goatee with one hand and playing with chips with the other. Finally, he slammed the chips back into his stack and flicked his cards into the muck.

Silverman Eliminated by Duhamel

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Jonathan Duhamel raised to 5,500 from the button and Steven Silverman three-bet shipped all in over the top for what looked to be 55,100. Action folded back to Duhamel who snapped him off.

Duhamel: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Silverman: {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Silverman was dominated and failed to improve on the {2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Spades} board. He made a quick exit from the tournament area while Team PokerStars Pro Duhamel moved his stack up to about 355,000.

Esfandiari Barrels Away Against Seiver

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Action folded to defending champion Scott Seiver in the small blind, and he limped in. Antonio Esfandiari raised to 7,300 from the big blind, and Seiver made the call to see the {J-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop. Seiver checked, and Esfandiari bet 8,300. Seiver called.

The turn was the {9-Spades}, and Seiver checked again. Esfandiari bet again, and this time he made it 16,400. Seiver called.

The river was the {K-Spades}, and Seiver checked a third time. Esfandiari slid forward 50,200. This prompted some thought from Seiver, but after a couple of minutes he folded, and Esfandiari won the pot.

Despite losing this hand, Seiver still has around 600,000 in chips. Esfandiari chipped up to 350,000.

Men of Troyanovskiy

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Chris Klodnicki opened for a raise in early position, Vladimir Troyanovskiy defended out of the blinds, and the dealer fanned {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. Troyanovskiy led out for 13,000, Klodnicki called, and both players checked after the {5-Diamonds} turned.

The {3-Hearts} fell on the river, Troyanovskiy checked again, and Klodnicki fired out 27,000. Troyanovskiy made the call, Klodnicki mucked when the Russian showed {a-Spades}{8-Clubs} for a pair of aces.

Three Fours For Schwartz

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Flop: {4-Spades}{A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Chris Klodnicki was heads up in the hand and first to act against Noah Schwartz. Klodnicki led into the pot for 6,500 and Schwartz called to see a turn.

The dealer produced the {q-Spades} on the turn and Klodnicki slowed with a check. This gave Schwartz an opportunity to fire out a bet of 10,800. Klodnicki wasted little time moving out a check-raise to 31,000 in response to Schwartz's bet. Schwartz called and the {2-Clubs} fell on the river. Klodnicki dropped out a river bet of 43,000 and Schwartz heaved a sigh.

"Never easy," lamented Schwartz. "It's never easy."

After a moment, Schwartz dropped out a call and Klodnicki tabled {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a pair of queens. Schwartz showed {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for a set of fours and he was able to drag in the pot. Schwartz is now sitting on about 370,000 while Klodnicki has fallen to around 180,000.

Tom Marchese opened to 6,000 from the hijack seat, JC Alvarado three-bet to 16,000 on the button, and both blinds released. Marchese made the call then checked on a flop of {6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. Alvarado continued for 20,000, Marchese check-raised all in for 78,700, and Alvarado called.

Alvarado: {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Marchese: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The {7-Spades} on the turn was a brick, as was the {j-Spades} on the turn. Marchese doubled to 190,000, while Alvarado is down to 90,000.

Quoss Flops Two Pair

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Max Altergott raised to 5,300 from the cutoff and found a single call from Fabian Quoss in the big blind. The flop came {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} and both players checked to see the {2-Diamonds} hit fourth street. Quoss fired out 8,000 and Altergott called.

The {4-Clubs} completed the board on the river and Quoss tossed out 16,000. Altergott called but then mucked hand after he saw Quoss' {A-Spades}{9-Hearts} for two pair. Quoss dragged in the pot and now sits around 300,000.
