Quads Chops it This Time

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Two players have been eliminated by quads already, and this time Scott Baumstein was the one happy with quads even though he only got half the pot. He four-bet all in preflop from the cutoff against Kevin Schulz in the small blind, and Baumstein's {a-Spades}{q-Spades} found a board of {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} against {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.

Linde Climbing

Dylan Linde

Dylan Linde opened for 90,000 in middle position and was called by three players. He wasn't afraid to continuation-bet the {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop though, and Ratharam Sivagnanam made the call from the cutoff for 190,000. Linde's 370,000 bullet on the {10-Hearts} took it down.

Finding Little Edges

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

In the stacked PCA High Roller field, there are few if any soft spots to target at any given table. It's like an advanced game of Step on a Crack, with danger lurking no matter which way one turns. See what Team PokerStars Pro Jake Cody suggests for negotiating a path through such a treacherous field on the PokerStars Blog.

Scott Baumstein Eliminated in 15th Place ($73,840)

Scott Baumstein raised it up to 80,000 in the small blind, and Chance Kornuth made it 205,000 in the small blind. Baumstein shipped it in for 1.325 million, and Kornuth took off his glasses, thought briefly, and made the call.

Kornuth: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Baumstein: {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Baumstein's cards were live, but that's all he had going for him still after the {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{8-Spades} flop missed both. The {2-Hearts} turn and {10-Spades} river did likewise, leaving ace-high best.

Emrah Cakmak Eliminated in 14th Place ($73,840)

Former chip lead Emrah Cakmak opened for 85,000 on the button and four-bet all in to 1.28 million after Diego Ventura three-bet to 240,000 in the big blind. Ventura snapped it off with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}, and Cakmak had {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. A run out of {j-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} left Cakmak drawing stone dead on the turn.

Ratharam Sivagnanam Eliminated in 13th Place ($81,760)

Pratyush Buddiga opened for 90,000 in the cutoff, and Diego Ventura called on his left. Ratharam Sivagnanam shoved it in for 995,000 in the big, and Buddiga called.

Buddiga: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Sivagnanam: {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Sivagnanam found himself dominated, and his three-outer was nowhere to be found on the {k-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs} community.

Ritter Doubles Through Linde

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Dylan Linde opened to 90,000 in middle position and was called by two players. Everyone checked the {q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop, and Linde bet 150,000 on the {8-Diamonds} turn after Pratyush Buddiga checked. Uwe Ritter raised to 325,000, chasing Buddiga out, and Linde shoved. Ritter called with {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, locked into a double against Linde's {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}.

Pastor Takes a Profitable Line

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Juan Martin Pastor opened to 70,000 in middle position and got three calls. Everyone checked the {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop, and Pastor bet 180,000 on the {k-Spades} turn, getting a call from only Chance Kornuth on the button. Pastor then fired bigger with 410,000 on the {6-Spades} river, and Kornuth made the call after briefly thinking.

Pastor revealed {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for trips, and Kornuth mucked.
