Baumstein Leaves Duta on Four Bigs

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Scott Baumstein
Scott Baumstein

Scott Baumstein opened for 225,000 in the cutoff and Florian Duta made it 775,000 in the small blind. Baumstein moved all in for 4,410,000 and Duta breathed deep, got the count, and slammed down some chips to call.

Florian Duta: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Scott Baumstein: {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Baumstein rose up and slung his bag over his shoulder but the {5-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop favored him in a big way. The {7-Spades} turn and {2-Hearts} river left the aces a winner and Duta sent over nearly all of his own chips.

Bicknell Gets Some More; Duta Jams Into Shakerchi

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Luis Faria opened to 225,000 and Kristen Bicknell defended the big blind to see the {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop. Both Bicknell and Faria checked and the former then bet the {7-Diamonds} turn for 325,000, Faria called. On the {8-Hearts} river, Bicknell made it 650,000 to go and Faria folded after some consideration.

At the same time, Talal Shakerchi raised to 200,000 over on the outer table and Florian Duta came along out of the big blind. The flop brought {K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Duta check-raised from 205,000 to 580,000, which Shakerchi called. What followed was a near instant shove of Duta on the {5-Hearts} turn and Shakerchi folded with around 20 big blinds behind.

One for Baumstein

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Four players built a pot of around 800,000 and Florida Duta bet 320,000 on the {2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades} from under the gun. Marc Perrault called on his left but Scott Baumstein made it 890,000 out of the small blind. That convinced everyone else to give it up.

Bicknell Doubles Through Faria

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Kristen Bicknell shoved for a little over 1.3 million in middle position and small blind Luis Faria stuck in enough to set her at risk.

Kristen Bicknell: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Luis Faria: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

It was a good spot for Bicknell and the king kicker stayed true on the {6-Spades}{q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} board.

Faria Takes From Colillas

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Luis Faria raised first to act and was called by Ramon Colillas in the big blind. The flop came {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and both players checked. Colillas bet the {4-Hearts} turn for 365,000 to pick up a call by Faria before using time bank on the {4-Spades} river and checking. Faria used a time bank also and bet 275,000, Colillas folded.

Shakerchi Barrels into Duta Twice

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Talal Shakerchi was under the gun and bet 240,000 on a {10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop. Florian Duta called and then called 525,000 on the {k-Clubs} turn. The {6-Clubs} river checked through and Shakerchi opened {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} for ace-high.

Duta could beat it with {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and Shakerchi could only shake his head.

Jack O'Neill Eliminated in 19th Place ($175,300)

Level 28 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Jack O'Neill
Jack O'Neill

The action was on Jack O'Neill who shipped all in for 1,850,000 on the button with {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. Julien Martini asked for a count from the big blind and made the call with {a-Spades}{10-Spades}.

The flop fell {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} to give O'Neill the best hand with a pair of jacks although Martini picked up a straight draw. The turn was the {3-Hearts} which changed nothing but the {q-Diamonds} peeled off on the river. Martini made a straight and O'Neill was eliminated in 19th place.

Luigi Knoppers
Luigi Knoppers

Luis Faria had open-shoved a few times previously and just did so again from the hijack. Luigi Knoppers on the button called all in for just over nine big blinds and the rest of the table folded.

Luis Faria: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Luigi Knoppers: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}

Knoppers had two overcards and picked up an additional gutshot on the {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop, but the {3-Hearts} turn and {2-Hearts} river brought no further help. Knoppers finished in 20th place and takes home $175,300 for his efforts.
