Kevin Martin
Kevin Martin

Facing a raise to 9,000, Kevin Martin defended out of the big blinds to see a {K-}{K-}{Q-} flop which both he and his opponent checked on.

The turn landed the {J-} and Martin shoved his last few chips into the middle and his opponent looked him up.

Martin: {10-}{8-}
Opponent: {A-}{10-}

With Martin drawing dead to a chop, the river landed the {8-} and the Thursday Thrilla Champion was sent to the rail.

Suck, Re-Suck, Politakis Doubles

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

From under the gun, Alex Lavinthal opened to 11,500 and the action folded round to Alex Politakis in the big blind and he moved all in for 69,000.

"Will you show me if I fold?" asked Lavinthal. Politakis didn't budge. After roughly two minutes, Lavinthal called.

Lavinthal: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Politakis: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

With Politakis holding the lead, the {3-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop saw Lavinthal surge ahead until the {7-Clubs} on the turn would render yesterday's Mix-Max 4th place finisher drawing dead as the {2-Hearts} paired the board on the river.

Antis Sunk by Zhang Two-Outer

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The action folded to Zhihao Zhang on the button, and he min-raised to 8,000. Mark Antis moved all in from the small blind for 50,500 and Zhang called.

Zhang: {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}
Antis: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Antis looked to be in great shape to double until the dealer spread a {4-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop.

The {9-Diamonds} on the turn changed little, and when the {A-Hearts} completed the board on the river, Antis would be sent to the rail as Zhang climbed to roughly 155,000 in chips.

Ebert Wins Monster Against Boatman

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Brandon Boatman opened for a min-raise in middle position, and Brian Ebert called in the cutoff, as did the big blind.

The flop fell {2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and following a check from the big blind, Boatman bet out 17,000. Ebert called and the big blind folded as the turn landed the {5-Diamonds} and Boatman moved all in for for roughly 290,000. Ebert quickly called for his remaining 173,500.

Boatman: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Ebert: {6-Spades}{5-Spades}

Both players held a straight, but it would be Ebert's six-high having the best of it against Boatman's wheel.

No six came on the river to save Boatman as the {8-Clubs} rolled off, and once the pot was pushed, Boatman dropped to 110,000 while Ebert climbed to over 410,000 in chips.
