From 409 starting entrants between two flights, just 67 players will return today at Noon at Peppermill Reno for Day 2 of the $440 Mini Main Event at Run It Up Reno IX. Leading the pack is Lucas Hill, and his 521,000 in chips give him a sizable lead over the pack to start the day. The rest of the top 5 consists of Tyler Burke (430,000), Day 1b chip leader Andrew Karkenny (389,000), Vanessa Kade (383,000) and Nick Kiley (378,000).
John Boriolo, who won the $440 Mini Main Event at Run It Up Reno VIII is in contention with a stack of 283,000, while four-time WSOP Bracelet winner Loren Klein (145,000) is also in the hunt. Joining them are DJ Fenton (303,000), Jon Turner (221,000), Jordan Spurlin (90,000) and Ricky "ratedGTO" Guan (82,000).
Day 2 will start with 6:49 left on the clock in Level 15. The Run It Up dynamic live stream (that means breaks and other downtimes will be edited out for an action-packed broadcast) will begin at 5 p.m. local time, but you can tune back into PokerNews straight away for live updates.
This marks the first of six tournaments that PokerNews will live report here at Run It Up Reno. Others include $235 Progressive Knockout (October 14), $235 Black Chip Bounty (October 15), $175 Moneymaker Tour Event with a PokerStars Platinum Pass added (October 16), $1,100 Thursday Thrilla (October 17-18), and the $600 buy-in, $300K GTD Main Event (October 18-21).

All of the final 67 players have already made the money, and a min-cash will earn players $715. A spot at the Official Final Table of eight will net a $3,170 payday, while the eventual winner of the $440 Mini Main Event will earn a gold trophy and $30,000. Chris Lindner raised to 11,000 from middle position, and Dan Coen, who started the day as the short stack of the tournament, put his last 7,000 in from the cutoff. John Skrovan called the 11,000 from Lindner on the button.
Lindner bet 8,000 on the flop, and Skrovan called.
The fell on the turn, and Lindner checked. Skrovan bet 20,000 and Lindner folded, earning Skrovan the side pot.

"Good luck everyone," Coen said upon seeing he was drawing dead to Skrovan's Big Slick, and he headed to get paid after the completed the board on the river.

Rod Burt raised to 15,000 from under the gun, and Bruce Spikell called in the small blind. Jared Shipley three-bet shoved for 49,000 in the big blind, Burt called and Spikell folded.

Shipley's queens survived the flop, and he said, "Be good to me!" before the hit the turn, giving him a set. Burt could still knock out Shipley with a king on the river, but the earned Shipley the double.
