Welcome to Event #2 of the 2014 Seneca Niagara Summer Slam!

On Friday, the 2014 Seneca Niagara Summer Slam kicked off in Niagara Falls, NY with a $200 no-limit hold'em deepstack turbo event which attracted a total of 108 entries. The fast-paced format resulted in a relatively early night as five players agreed on a deal, with Scott Hosbach being ruled the official champion.

The Summer Slam continues this morning at 11 a.m. ET with Event #2, a $300 no-limit hold'em event. Each player will receive 20,000 in chips and the blind levels will increase every 30 minutes. Registration will remain open for the first four levels and player may reenter during the first eight levels. The one-day tournament will end when a champion is crowned later this evening.

Last year, Dawn Nguyen took down the $300 NLHE event in the Summer Slam Series for $8,687. Nguyen outlasted a field of 112 and finished ahead of Jason Nablo, who took second for $5,211. We're expecting another big field today as players look to open their weekend with a long day of poker in Niagara Falls.

As always, PokerNews will be activating the MyStack App for today's tournament, allowing players to directly update their chip counts in the PokerNews blog using their iPhone or Android phone. We'll have more information about how to use My Stack once the action gets underway.

The action kicks off in less than an hour — we'll see you right here for a full day on the felt!
