Hello and welcome to PokerNews' Day 2 coverage of the Western New York Poker Challenge! In less than an hour, the tournament staff at the Seneca Poker Room will begin Event #2, a $500 no-limit hold'em re-entry tournament. Each player will receive 25,000 in chips and the blind levels will increase every 30 minutes. Re-entry will be available for the first four levels.

The one-day tournament will end when a champion is crowned later this evening.

Last night, Kevin Mathias got the series underway by winning Event #1 : $200 No-Limit Hold'em. Mathias, a college student at the University of Buffalo, defeated his friend Thomas Hawthorne heads-up to claim the $6,514 prize and the Event #1 trophy. Mathias also owned half of Hawthorne's action and claimed 50% of his friend's $4,023 prize. Not a bad day for a college kid.

Event #2 begins at 11 a.m., and we'll be bringing you hand updates, photos, chip counts and more from the floor of the Seneca Poker Room. PokerNews will also be activating the MyStack App for this event, allowing players to directly update their chip counts in the PokerNews blog using their iPhone or Android phone. You can even write up hand recaps yourself to update your family and friends of your progress.

Stay tuned for all of the action from Event #2 of the Western New York Poker Challenge.
