The 2015 Seneca Niagara Summer Slam Main Event continues this morning with the second of two starting flights inside the Niagara Falls Poker Room at the Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel just steps from majesty that is Niagara Falls.

Following weeks of live satellites and guarantee smashing Summer Slam events that have fattened the pockets of local grinders at the venue, there are already more than 100 qualifiers prepped to play, which should help ensure this event's $150,000 guarantee is not just met, but exceeded as well.

In fact, the first flight drew 195 entries Friday and the rest of the poker room was packed with live satellite players throughout the entire session.

Last year, the 2014 Seneca Niagara Summer Slam Main Event drew 339 entries across two starting flights, with top local rounder Buck Ramsay earning the title and $41,000 in prize money following a heads-up deal with Jacob Ostrander. Ramsay bagged up 104,000 after Day 1a this time around.

Today, players will get going with 25,000 starting stacks and plans to play 15 full 40-minute levels beginning at 11 a.m. local time.

There will be a 45-minute dinner break after the 10th level and registration and unlimited re-entry is open until the break is through at the start of Level 11.

Any and all survivors will return to play down to a champion at 11 a.m. Sunday, joining the 33 players who made it through from the first flight. At this point, they will all be chasing Jeffrey Hobrecker, who is the only player currently above the 300,000-chip mark.

With its deeper structure and bigger buy-in, this event has already attracted some of Western New York's best poker players and even more are expected to turn up today.

Keep it locked right here on PokerNews for updates of all it live from the floor of the Niagara Falls Poker Room from start to finish.

Rochester, NY's Steven Braverman took most of Dennis Durante's chips in a massive second level hand to grab the early chip lead.

The real action started when Braverman, Durante and a third player traded raises on the flop, with Braverman eventually getting all-in heads-up with a flush draw versus Durante's two pair.

Braverman turned his flush to double big and Durante was out a hand later shoving short with rags.

[Removed:340] Stacks One

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

2014 Seneca Niagara Fall Poker Classic Main Event sixth-place finisher [Removed:339] is off to a hot start here in the Summer Slam Main Event.

He smashed a {9-}{7-}{4-} flop holding {4-}{7-} and doubled up, calling every street when one opponent tried to four-barrel bluff with ace-high.

A little later he picked up another decent pot with top pair and is pushing 70,000 already.

Armando Pagliari
Armando Pagliari

Armando Pagliari made it all the way through 14 and a half levels on Day 1a of the Summer Slam Main Event.

But just before bagging up, he ended up on the wrong side of some kind of set-over-set debacle that sent him to the rail.

Back at it today for Day 1b, he's flopped a couple of sets already and sits among the early leaders again.
