Day 1b Started
The second of two Day 1 starting flights for the Main Event of the 2015 Western New York Poker Challenge will begin at 11 a.m. this morning at the Seneca Niagara Hotel & Casino in Niagara Falls, NY.
The $1,000 buy-in event features a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool and players will sit down with 30,000-chip stacks to play 13 levels today.
Friday's first Day 1 flight saw a total of 92 entries with only 25 players surviving. With a while to go before the guarantee is met, today's Day 1 flight is expected to be twice the size.
Damian Baird finished with the lead yesterday on 443,700 in chips, setting a rather high bar for today's entrants.
Registration and unlimited re-entries are available for the first nine 45-minute levels today.
The area's top rounders are expected to be taking a shot at the title here and the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on site to provide updates of all the action from the tournament floor throughout.

A steady stream of players continues to roll on to the tournament floor.
Now into the day's second level the board reads 88 entries and counting.
Toronto, Canada's Xiaohu Chen took down the second event on the 2015 Western New York Poker Challenge schedule last weekend, besting a field of 117 entries to book a $15,242 win - the biggest payday of the series so far.
However, his run for the Main Event title has started in the wrong direction.
Chen paid off a 13,375-chip shove on the river of a board, mucking when his opponent showed for the flush.
Chen lost close to half his starting stack in the hand.
