The first of four starting flights for the 2017 Seneca Niagara Falls Summer Slam $200 No-Limit Hold'em drew 88 entries Friday.

By the time they had played almost 13 levels, just 11 remained, reaching the 12 percent of the field mark and halting play for the flight.

Mark Roberts went on a heater late that included a double knockout to rise into the chip lead on over 300,000 heading into Day 2.

These 11 players will return for Day 2 Sunday and they will be joined by anyone pushing through the next three starting flights still to come.

PokerNews' Summer Slam coverage will continue with the second starting flight in this $200 No-Limit Hold'em reentry event set for 6 p.m. this evening.

If you're looking for action, you came to the right place.

The 2017 Seneca Niagara Falls Summer Slam poker tournament series continues today with its $200 No-Limit Hold'em multiple-flight reentry event.

The first of four starting flights begins at 10 a.m. local time inside the Niagara Falls Poker Room at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino. The second one is set for 6 p.m. and there are two more tomorrow. Each flight allows for registration and unlimited reentry through the first eight levels, which means players will be firing away early and often.

The goal: Make it through 14 levels of play or until just 12 percent of the field remains. The prize: A seat in Day 2 Sunday where the big money and Seneca Poker glory awaits.

Survivors will take whatever chips they manage to collect with them. However, should they decide they want more, they can still reenter future flights and will carry the best stack forward.

Players will start with 15,000 in tournament chips and the levels are 20 minutes each. Another Day 2 perk is the jump to 40 minute levels, giving the players a little more wiggle room.

Events like this create big prize pools at small price points and the 2017 Seneca Niagara Falls Summer Slam version carries with it a $50,000 guarantee. They can also create crowds, so that guarantee should be easily met as players fire away for a chance at a decent payday for a couple of hundred bucks.

PokerNews will be here throughout, so keep your finger on refresh, more 2017 Seneca Niagara Falls Summer Slam action is coming at you right now!
