Day 1b Started
If you're looking for action, you came to the right place.
The 2017 Seneca Niagara Falls Summer Slam poker tournament series continues today with its $200 No-Limit Hold'em multiple-flight reentry event.
The second of four starting flights begins at 6 p.m. local time inside the Niagara Falls Poker Room at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino. There are two more tomorrow. Each flight allows for registration and unlimited reentry through the first eight levels, which means players will be firing away early and often.
The goal: Make it through 14 levels of play or until just 12 percent of the field remains. The prize: A seat in Day 2 Sunday where the big money and Seneca Poker glory awaits.
Survivors will take whatever chips they manage to collect along the way with them. However, should they decide they want more, they can still reenter future flights and will carry the best stack forward.
Players will start with 15,000 in tournament chips and the levels are 30 minutes each. Another Day 2 perk is the jump to 40 minute levels, giving the players a little more wiggle room.
The first flight drew 88 entries with 11 players surviving. Mark Roberts is the current chip leader having bagged over 300,000.
Events like this create big prize pools at small price points and the 2017 Seneca Niagara Falls Summer Slam version carries with it a $50,000 guarantee. They also create crowds, so that guarantee should be easily met as players fire away for a chance at a decent payday for a couple of hundred bucks.

Two Seneca tourney standouts have emerged as chip leaders here in Level 3.
Dave Battaglia got the early double up playing five-six offsuit. He flopped a straight against an opponent with queens and a willingness to play for stacks.
In the meantime, [Removed:339] made a straight flush against a straight to take most of one opponent's stack. He got the rest making a flush against the same player a few hands later and he's now on top of the counts.

Bruce Pace flopped top pair queens and decided to get it in.
The only issue being Ron Kowaleski had two kings in the hole. Kings held and Kowaleski will head into the break among the leaders with Pace out.
