Tour pro Blake Bohn has already busted his first bullet. We didn't catch the action, but he had {a-}{6-} in front of him, good for aces up, but Harry Behling had better aces up with {a-}{q-}.

Vang Bluffs Melander Out

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

We found Todd Melander deep in the tank against an all-in wager from Kou Vang. The Mid-States Poker Tour team pro was all in for what looked to be a bit more than 11,000, and Melander double-checked and recapped his cards as he continued to tank. He shrugged and finally folded after a couple of minutes. Vang tossed {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} into the middle for a missed combo draw.

At another table, Iowa native Jeff Fielder has hopped into the tournament.

Annonson Bets the Flush Small

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Tom Annonson was in the big blind, and he check-called 2,600 on a {j-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop against an under-the-gun player. Both players checked the {3-Hearts} turn, and Annonson bet 2,200 on the {3-Clubs} river. His opponent called, and Annonson showed {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a flush.

Players are on break for 10 minutes.

Anderson Collects a Stack

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

John Morgan opened for a raise and got a handful of callers, and he continuation-bet 1,500 on the {9-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{k-Spades} flop. The player on his left shoved all in, and big blind Colin Anderson moved in as well, chasing out Morgan, who said he folded top pair.

Anderson: {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Opponent: {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Anderson had flopped the nuts, but he still had hearts to fade. None appeared on the {4-Diamonds} turn or {k-Diamonds} river.

Birt Fires Big, Then Small

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Jeff Birt bet 8,000 on a board of {8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, and one player called in the hijack, while another folded. On the {2-Spades} river, Birt went with a much smaller bet, 4,000. His opponent called, leaving himself with just a few hundred behind, and Birt tabled {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a set.

Pupillo Busts Sell

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Nick Pupillo, pictured at MSPT Meskwaki.

Ken Rosheisen bet 1,400 on a flop of {4-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, and Nick Pupillo made it 4,400 in late position. Jason Sell, who had checked from the small blind, shoved all in for 8,225, and Rosheisen let his opponents have at it. Pupillo immediately called.

Pupillo: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Sell: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Sell's two overcards and a straight draw didn't have as much equity as he may have hoped since Pupillo had a better hand and a better draw. The {10-Diamonds} turn and {8-Clubs} river were both bricks, and Sell sent his stack to Pupillo.

Pupillo, an Illinois native, has racked up more than $250,000 in cashes this year and is in the hunt for Mid-States Poker Tour Player of the Year, currently sitting in seventh.
